I was a former college basketball player. This conversation may be and seem cruel, but it’s actually super respectful. I played for a coach that told me absolutely nothing and constantly lied and deflected all questions. Sitting the people down and telling them what’s up is a sign of a genuine person, especially if they won’t like it. Colorado has to have a MAJOR culture change in order to be successful. Once upon a time, some guy named Paul Bryant had all but 7 players quit before he rebuilt his Texas A&M team. When Chuck Noll took over the Steelers, he told his players that they were losing because most of them weren’t very good and he’d get rid of most of them. I can’t wait until after his second year to see the results. GREAT INTERVIEW!

For those of you who are real football historians, remember what Paul "Bear" Bryant did with his Texas A and M squad. He got those cats out there, put them through a meat grinder and ran off most of them. He went on to become the standard for college football excellence. This is not the 1st time. As a CU Boulder alumni, I’m beyond thrilled we have a LEADER back as a head coach. I’m so damn excited for this era. Coach Prime doesn’t give a damn about the press, the suits, or the critics. Coach Prime cares about winning and bringing that magic of the Orange Bowl days with Bill McCartney back to CU. Watching the Darian Hagan days with Pritchard, Flannigan, and Bieniemy is the CU I remember - not the 2022 team that managed one win all season.

Get ready for several 7-5 seasons then Sanders blaming UC Boulder and the PAC-12 for not being able to recruit guys. A “leader of men” meets with guys he’s cutting; Every spring when it was time to sign our scholarship again for the next year we met with our position coach first; went over how we were graded starting from the previous season through that spring ball to where we were at on the depth chart going into the fall. Only then were we sent to our HC’s office to sign our paperwork and get our spring 1 on 1. (ACC) All I’ve seen out of whatever they have put out is Sanders pontificating like a preacher in meeting rooms and giving interviews whenever he can. This is Manny Diaz at Miami 2.0

they probably were just being respectful and letting him speak. Coaches and parents tend to have this weird habit of critiquing every response you make. For example, you say nothing. the response is "youre not that guy, youre afraid." Now lets say instead you raise your hand or stand up and say "it should be me getting the ball," your coach might respond and say some sht like "no it shouldnt, i saw you play last year and i didnt see that mentality, sit down." Bottom line, there was no correct response.

Nobody said anything because his question was rhetorical. Poor communication on Prime's part. He was giving a speech, nobody interrupts a coach's speech unless you want to do disciplines/suicides/Up-Downs or whatever you call them. It was a coach's harangue not a discussion. @@dudeman5166 you are aware that most current great college coaches don't coach up their players and leave the experts and staff they hire to do it? Most of the college coaches inspire and lead and know how to talk the talk to get that linebacker who has struggled all game against that LT to dig deep in those final minutes to push and finally beat them. Head Coaching isn't about coaching your players its about inspiring and leading your players to want to push past their limits and coach prime does that very well. talent will take you only so far but a fire in your belly cause coach just lit you up for missing a play to go out and prove you can do better is what makes you a great coach or player. examples for you are saban, kirby, ryan day, lincoln riley all those guys dont coach kids up. some may run gameplanining but thats it they lead and gameplan.
