I appreciate that you guys aren't afraid to speak your minds about popular titles that have buzz around them. Some other channels might be more inclined to talk about the book positively just to follow the general consensus. Haven't read Radiant Black, but love the video! Can't wait for more Invisibles book club ❤

Given your critiques, if you want a story that does this sort of idea justice, Ultramega is your book. Amazing, well paced, gnarly action, stakes set and skyrocketed very quickly. And is also rooted in Tokusatsu (sfx heavy hero or sci fi Japanese TV), but instead coming from the Ultraman dynasty.
@malonshammer Жыл бұрын
I'd counter that Ultramega looks awesome, but didn't really care for the second half of it.

They need a Zordon (or a Master Splinter) and whatever that robot was named along with a Rita Repulsa (or The Shredder) that can actually fight and doesn't laugh and make jokes.

If you're looking for books to cover - that aren't from the big 2 - I've read Barbaric from Michael Moreci. Read volume 1, surprisingly enjoyable. It's a fantasy story and a bit funny. Fairly metal too.

Agreed- it's a fun time. I loved the tattooed heroine in it

@@ImperiusRex Think a favourite moment for me is near the end where Owen is hallucinating and sees a big heavenly woman. She's talking to him like 'oh come to me and have your rest' and he's just annoyed like 'does this ever work on people?' as he rips the illusion away.

I have the first 2 volumes of Radiant Black and enjoyed it and i read the first volume of Radiant Red and really enjoyed it!!! I was hoping they come out with volumes for all the Radiants. Even if its just one tpb for every one before they conasentrate more on certain ones because if the rest of them have introduction stories as good as Radiant Reds tpb its a great start to a universe!!! I didn't know that they all had financial problems (unless ur joking) because that would be horrible if that is the root of all their problems.

Glad you enjoy it Cliff- it seems like we're in the minority for the most part on this book!

When's the next Invisibles Book Club episode ? I watched the first episode out of curiosity and found it so interesting that I bought the comic and I'm already in the middle of volume 5 lol
@ImperiusRex Жыл бұрын
YES! Love to hear that! I'm editing the second episode right now and will announce the next date shortly. (inside scoop- I think it will most likely be around April 20th or so). Each volume will be about a month a part.

I hate the Power Rangers comics (they don't feel like PR/toku in general to me, moreso just basic American cape stuff with Ranger iconography painted on) so I avoided this and the Ultraman books Higgins wrote, like the plague. EDIT: And the suit designs are fucking awful!
