You have a big problem alright; understanding scriptures is not your strength smh! Romans 9:14 “What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.” Romans 9:19 “Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?” Romans 9:20 “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?” It’s the Lord’s story he can do what he wants!

God never told them to do that. This story is a perfect example of how God's Will is accomplished no matter what man does. Same thing with Abraham and Sarah. They grew impatient, and took matter into their own hands. But God still fulfills His promises. God used Balaam to speak to Balak. Does that mean God endorsed Balaams divination??? No! It means we are vessels and God can do whatever He likes.

Rebecca went to great lengths to make sure Jacob got the birthright. Why would God bless Jacob? Lying was a sin. 4. Even tho Esau said he was going to kill Jacob. Why would Esau rescue Jacob from Laban? 5. How could Jacob wrestle with God when no human has ever seen him? Here again Jacob was blessed still looking for more.

If a man comes into my home and steals my home, his unborn children will grow up to believe the home is theirs by birthright. However, if my children return to said home and take it back through deception, manipulation, or force, the matter in which my children gain their home is not relevant because the home is and always has been theirs even if someone else occupies it. Too many people say the same ignorant thing. They argue that possession equates to true ownership when it has nothing to do with rightful ownership. Arguing the merit in which Jacob recieved his blessing is no different than when people today victimize the perpetrator and villainize the victim.

It reminds me of the Shining One (serpent/snake) grasping at the heel of Adam. After eating dust, I'm sure he was thirsty. Why should Esau be concerned with an earthly birthright? Compare it to the Son of David also being the root of David. He rules from David's throne, preserving it for him. Blessed be the heavenly kingdom of our Father David that is to come. They are the same story. Esau serves his brother. Adam, the Christ, is a third-party mediator to this world and these heavens between you and your Father. In this version of the story, Jacob is seated at the table and Esau, the first-born, serves him. For who is greater: the one seated at table or the one who serves? Is it not the one seated at table? I am among you as the one who serves. (Luk 22:27 NABO) Esau, the firstborn, lives by the sword (sacrifice) and serves his brother, Jacob, who was born gripping (striking at) his heel. Isaac blessed Esau saying: Ah, far from the fertile earth shall be your dwelling; far from the dew of the heavens above! (Gen 27:39 NABO) You will not always have me (Mat 26:11 NABO) I am with you always, until the end of the age. (Mat 28:20 NAB) My kingdom does not belong to this world. (Joh 18:36 NABO) Where I am going you cannot come. (Joh 8:21 NABO) Then I took my staff "Refuge" and snapped it asunder, breaking off the covenant which I had made with all peoples (Noahic covenant) (Zec 11:10 NABO) Then I snapped asunder my other staff, "Heritage" (Deu 32:8) breaking off my brotherhood with (or between?) Judah and Israel. (Zec 11:14 NABO) the one who ascended far above all the heavens themselves (Eph 4:10 NABO) never to return to corruption (Act 13:34 NABO) "By your sword (sacrifice) you shall live, and your brother you shall serve; But when you become restive (weak; faint; infirm; a worm; man of suffering; restless; wanderer in the desert; way of the Lord in the desert), you shall throw off his yoke from your neck." (Gen 27:40 NABO) Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau! (Gen 32:12 NABO) Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, and flinging himself on his neck, kissed him as he wept. (Gen 33:4 NABO) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light. (Mat 11:29-30 NABO) Jacob said to Esau: to come into your presence is for me like coming into the presence of God, now that you have received me so kindly. (Gen 33:10 NABO)

If Rebekah had to deceive Isaac out of giving the blessing to the first son as she did, then how is it to believed in that God spoke to her, sounds like a cover story to get what she wanted. Lack of character vs cheating someone out of something hmmm, lets think about who is really in the wrong.
@TomiAdewoleAdetom2 жыл бұрын
This story proves that Esau is a very carnal man - which is evident throughout the story. Did Esau not vex Rebecca and Isaac continuously with his choice in wives? It showed that he cared not at all about family legacy and tribal customs. It's easy to surmise that he was generally lawless...and Jacob would've know this, because he would've discerned this throughout their decades togather as brothers. Jacob petitioned for the birthright, in part, because he understood that Esau would not take care of their parents in their twilight years. He was always doing his own thing, after all - as we can see from the text. Esau was always in the field; whereas Jacob dwelled in tents. Much more given to caring for his aged parents after the custom of the Israelites. By taking strange wives continuously, Esau may have imperiled his aged parents eventually - moving them from hostile/foreign land to hostile/foreign land; away from their people. If Esau despised his birthright (which entails fiscal inheritance as well as familial responsiblity), then Jacob was RIGHT to relieve him of it by using his own character against him. Being brothers, Jacob would've discerned that Esau essentially lives for his flesh alone; otherwise, how would he even know to petition for such a bargain? Abraham's story is completely different because Abraham was epitomizing the law of hospitality to his stranger-relatives. Esau was completely known to Jacob, which is why Jacob acted as he did. Ultimately, though, this was all set up in the Spirit world to happen so it would have happened by any means necessary in the tangible realm. Romans 11:26 "And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written: “There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob."

@richdeering95803 жыл бұрын
Good point. However… There are two Hebrew extra canonical stories about Jacob’s blessing I have heard. One is about a midwife, during the birth, who tied a red cord on the wrist of Jacob, when his arm popped out, but went back in again, then Esau was first to be born; but, the red cord proved Jacob was really first. The second story is about the struggle between the two in the womb: Jacob was so concerned that, in his eagerness to be born first, Esau was going to end up hurting or injuring his mum; and, this is why he grabbed Esau’s heel. Also, in the apocryphal/deuterocanonical book (2 Esdras 6:7 - 10), the conversation with the Angel answering Ezra’s questions goes like this: “I answered and said what will be the dividing of the times? Or when will be the end of the first age and the beginning of the age that follows? He said to me from Abraham to Isaac because from him were born Jacob and Esau, for Jacobs hand held Esau heel from the beginning. Now Esau is the end of this age, and Jacob is the beginning of the age that follows. The beginning of a person is the hand, and the end of a person is the heel; seek for nothing else, Ezra, between the heel and the hand, Ezra.” (Quoted from the New Revised Standard Version with Apocrypha) It was Jacob’s passion for the blessing that pleased God…. especially when he wrestled with God all night, and refused to let go until God blessed him. Esau, in contrast, was indifferent; being more concerned about food for his belly, than with spiritual matters.

I think Christianity miss teaches this story, to where even if we're aware that Torah is important we can't help but have the understanding that Christianity has gave us, I don't believe that Jacob did anything wrong I believe he simply asked his brother, his brother could have easily said no, his brother could have easily went to his mother and got fed, his brother may have got fed even if he said no, but when he said yes and despised his birthright Jacob said ok let's make it official and then technically Esau could have told Isaac his father I sold my Birthright to Jacob but no, he was going to receive the birth right and steal it from Jacob, he sold it to Jacob fair and square and then went to go steal it 💯♥️📖

Where do we read into the text that Esau was a bad person? You all are crazy. The prophesy is in Jesus as 'King of Israel'! Read John 8.[42a] Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God. RSV: 'proceed' = 'Spirit of truth'; 'came forth' also in Gen 25.25-26 in 'Esau' and 'Jacob'. We are not to judge good and evil in the Old Testament; 'it was'. And (Jesus) is the blessing! 'Israel' = 'Jacob' and 'Esau' in the 'Christ': 'the arm of the LORD' 'from the beginning'. It is not about us!
