I thought this was a really excellent edition of the podcast. He hit the nail on the head by getting at the root of the problem... The more I study, the more I realize how pride hides in our lives in so many ways.

This is why the baptism of the Holy Spirit is so vital in our walk with Jesus. Only God can deliver and tame our tongue. Thank you for sharing this video and helping us.

This seems like it could be a slippery slope when it comes to those of us that have positions at our jobs that ask or require us to know all we can about out coworkers' habits and what they're doing. For the purpose of facilitating their jobs or making sure they're doing their job, it's a necessity - not always what they're doing outside work, but in some cases even that is relevant...yeah, seems like it could be a temptation. While some discoveries may be aimed at damaging the person (warnings, new policies, termination, etc.), it could be in a non-gossipy way and may be in exchange for the good of the rest of his/her coworkers and the company, yet it could easily become personal or emotional, I'm sure. I best examine myself!

Three keys to not be a prideful gossiper who delights speaking/listening news like delicious morsels. 1. Walk in humility (Prov 26:22; 2 Cor 12:20) 2. Act in love (Prov 26:20; 17:9) 3. Live a purposeful life for God’s glory (1 Tim 5:13)

"If I PROFESS with the LOUDEST voice and CLEAREST exposition EVERY portion of the truth of God EXCEPT PRECISELY that little POINT which the world and the devil are at THAT MOMENT ATTACKING, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle RAGES, there the loyalty of the soldier is PROVED, and to be steady on all the battlefield besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point. "

Such a difficult issue. Being humble and loving, yet a careful observer of our world, our neighbors, and our brothers/sisters in the Body... God help us.
