Firstly, I'm sorry about the microphone obscuring my hands when I'm playing the guitar. I'm away at the moment so we're making a bit of an ad hoc studio setup this week (as you've probably noticed). Secondly, the copyright pests were really strict on this song and kept flagging it so the clips are incredibly short. Also my producer apologises for the typos, yet she still decided to keep them in the edit for your pleasure...anyway, any news?

Been a fan of Travis since I heard all I wanna do is rock all those years ago. A friend of mine knows Andy Dunlop quite well, through them I asked if he wanted to play banjo on one of my tracks and he said yes. I had the privilege of seeing Travis at a small venue in Munich in 2006. It was the first gig back after they had taken a break. Fran played rhythm guitar with the young Munich support act and the joy on the band’s face and Fran’s face was brilliant. Travis then started their set by walking through the crowd in boxers hooded robes to the rocky theme music. It was one of the most joyous and uplifting gigs I’ve been to and you could tell Fran and the rest of Travis were really enjoying playing together. Thanks for reminding me of the gig with this video.

The Man Who being the somber, darker emotions record and The Invisible Band being brighter and more uplifting sound, those records released 2 years apart were a fantastic one-two punch of straightforward post-britpop from Travis.
