Why Does it take professors so long to make exams?

Great and very informative video! Is it possible to us AI in the generation of exams? I wonder what would be the student experience if instead of asking them to write an essay on a given topic, AI generated an essay - but with deliberate errors and/or critical omissions - and then the student would be graded (for that portion of the exam) by correcting the AI generated essay by listing essential items that were omitted (and why they are important) as well as providing corrections for erroneous statements in the essay? Same thing. I'm a professor of physical chenistry and we are fighting the same problems

Lol that was the good thing about being a math teacher. You can have the right answer but if you didn't show the work that led to the answer, major points off. You know what's funny? So I taught 8th grade math. I used to give a scratch and sniff sticker if you got a 96 or above and they actually tried harder because they wanted the stickers. Cracked me up!
