THIS. A Big part of Eazy-E's legend is that he started Ruthless Records with drug money. That legend became even more widely known as he and N.W.A achieved superstar status. On "Dopeman," he played the titular character. Most of his content revolved any number of things that were detrimental to the community at the time, most of which were at least tangentially related to the dope game. What is Faizon talking about?

Big difference, Dope man had a message of the drug dealer doing damage to people's families and the speaker making threats... when Eazy dropped his bars he was "acting the part" NOT glorifying it or selling out like your boy Jay-Z from Hawaiian Sophie fame... cause gimmick rappers manufactured an image and people got mad cause Eazy E himself called those sellouts "studio gangstas"... Pay attention to Real Compton City Gz both clean and dirty, they give you a warning for glorifying "the life".

@@apollosungod2819 just say you don't listen to Jay z's music because you don't like him but don't make a blanket statement. Jay has rapped about the pitfalls of selling drugs plenty of times. He talked about his regrets and the dark times of him shooting his own brother because of it (his brother was an addict and stole from Jay), getting innocent people involved, also him himself becoming an addict in a way because he couldn't stop selling the drugs because of the money and material things he could get because of it. Muthafuckaaaaaa!" TL;DR - Who cares? Rap fans want to hear action-packed stories of sex, drugs & violence. It's what sells in America. Why? Because sex, drugs & actual violence sell in America. Until that changes, the demand for those stories (in songs, movies, video games, etc) won't change. Selling drugs isn't even immoral in the grand scheme of things. Where there's demand there will be a supply. The gov't could end the drug trade tomorrow by legalizing it but they'd rather keep the black market open & lock poor minorities up.

All he does is expose the fact that he doesn’t listen 2 Jay if he did he wouldn’t be talking so reckless with no substance to what he’s saying Jay speaks of the contrast between hustling and damaging your community & the fact that the times they were living in along with what the government was doing that forced some of the young black men to make these decisions 👑

The 6od did theme is not Jay’s theme or motto he was on a son6 that doesn’t represent his entire body of work… I listen to his lyrics & I catch the double entendre’s in all his music. He displays contrast to a life he lived. Wether 6lorifying or speakin6 on the re6rets from hustlin6… that’s the art & he definitely does both. Jay isn’t the reason the youth is screwed it’s opp music. Fazon said nothin6 of value when speakin6 on Jay that was my point if your 6onna go at an artist that 6lorifys dru6 dealin6 listen to Pusha T compared to Jay pusha has 6iven the handbook in his music no diss to him but theirs levels to this 👑

He conveniently ignores all the black excellence talk, stocks, Angel investing, art, property and business talk. Black billionaire talk…. But glorifying selling drugs is all he heard. Not to mention the youth doesn’t listen to Jay Z like that in 2022. The youth is not his demographic anymore. Pretty sure it’s 25+ maybe even older.

I'm sick of Jay always relating his business moves to drug dealing. When is the last time Jay touched a brick, if he ever touched one? 30 years ago? Why is he always doing that shit? Talk about how you're making business moves today, without relating it to drugs. Something tells me he's being told to do this, the same way Cardi B is obviously being told what only type of music she is ALLOWED to make. None of what Jay said in that verse had anything to do with real life. His line about Ye & Rih really has nothing to do with him.
