I just moved to a new place & this random Persian cat & a stray cat does the same thing to me. They first approached me when I was sitting outside enjoying a good cigar & kept doing this ever since that day. The Persian one even likes to climb up to my shoulder & rubs against my head. There's another reason why they may rub you. My cat HATES my slippers. But before he attacks them, he rubs against them. Then he lies beside them with his paws laying over them. If I move, he engages his claws and hisses. The more I move my slippers the more aggressive he becomes. He has even attacked my legs as well. I do know why he does it. When he was a young kitten we took him on a 9 day car ride. My shoes reminds him of the time he was stuck around my feet.

When I'm lying on the couch looking at my phone, my little furry friend Bella will join me and start that rubbing off me thing and then lie down beside me but if I am trying to finish a text message or FB post etc, she will actually head butt the phone in my hand so that I'll put it down to pet her lol. I am a cat and I have a pet Human. I groom them if asked nicely or if I feel insecure eg. if I've just had a nap. Lately I like to walk beside my Human at home. I don't know why. Oh, also I ring a little bell on my necklace to attract my Human to train them to give me food, or to stay away as I'm having a wash. I recommend all cats get a pet Human. They're low maintenance giants and smell strong as they don't wash often but they're easy to train and feed you.
