Massive fan of the garden (top 0.1% listener apparently), massive fan of being a good parent to your children. Just discovered your channel. Keep up the good work!

All their stuff from 2015 on is pretty great. Their stuff before then is good too, just not quite as fleshed out feeling. I also really enjoy their side projects Puzzle, Enjoy, & Turkey. More so the second two. "Sessions With a Nasty Old Tree" is a fun album by Enjoy. (Also the monkey noise is most likely a jester.)

Prof. Skye, if I could get you to listen to any songs, it would be “California Here We Come” and “Thy Mission”. I’m confident you’ll enjoy those tracks.

My ex was into them and I went with him to their concert circa 2015. Even though they weren't entirely my taste, it was a surprisingly entertaining live show, and Fletcher is actually a great live drummer.

AVAA, I just listened to their album Kiss my Superbowl ring yesterday. Quite an enjoyable listen. Also it's crazy how Neo Punk FM ended up in a Professor Skye video lmao. Never would have expected it, your daughter is really cool.

Huge fan of the Garden and the twins. I feel this album is almost like a mix up of their solo projects, which is why it feels like it blends so well. The halloweeny stuff is very Puzzle (Fletcher). Great review 👍🏼

The garden has that kinda egg punk ethos, they’re a constantly growing band that goes through seasons in their sound and they don’t take themselves too seriously. One of the most interesting bands I’ve listened to IMO

AVAA. I also appreciate your comment about listening to your kids, I’m a bit older than you, my daughter always says my music is too weird for her but I often get the very appreciated „you might like this“ as we both appreciate each other’s taste in music. I cringed though at the comparison to Lemon Twigs (mainly because they remind me too much of the music I had to listen to too much in my youth) for me the connection between the brothers reminds me of the connection the sisters in the Frost Children have

Prof. Skye, hope the Daryl Johns self-titled album is on your radar. November 22nd release date, shaping up to be cool! Kind of the same appeal as the Mk.Gee album (Two Star & the Dream Police) but seems a bit more direct and lighthearted. AVAA

AVAA! been listening to them since i was a freshman in high school (~2013), it's been riveting watching them develop. they remind me of the friends i used to hang out with in the LA area going to backyard shows and smoking cigarettes on the beach drunk on cheap rum. dead milkmen comparison is spot-on. they remind me of the minutemen very much both in ethos and sound (early on). so curious to see where they go next with their sound!

I know you’ve said your daughter is a big Tyler fan so it’s kind of cool/interesting that she got into The Garden because I only heard of them because of Tyler. He was hanging around with them and they played Camp Flog Gnaw so I checked them out. I think they were also in one of his music videos.

AVAA! If you like that sort of playful noisy stuff, I highly recommend you check out the new album from Leeds post-punk band Thank - I Have A Physical Body That Can Be Harmed. From the same scene that birthed a few of your favourite UK bands such as Yard Act, English Teacher and Mush. They're a bit on the "heavier" end of the post-punk scale and I think what makes them truly stand out is the use of comedy in their social commentary. They're refreshingly un-serious/unpretentious. The noise experimentation and frequent The Simpsons references are also very fun.
