My RV bathroom stinks - this works. My kitchen sink stinks when i use it and my bathroom always stinks while not using any ventilation roof fans. I bought two of these valves for my RV and they are "quality" admittance valve instead of with the cheap one i was buying before EVERY YEAR. And the stink in the bathroom is gone. Why these are highly rated is not a mystery at all, especially for an RV. Money well spent. Thank you for making this video so everyone in the RV community knows about getting rid of the "stink in the sink".

Thank you for bringing the subject up. I can't smell due to a fall. I fractured the back of my head. That happened about 13 years ago. I recovered fully except I can't smell. I think I'll have them on hand just in case someone mentions that something Stinks. On average the ones from the manufacturer, how long do they last?
@JouppiOutdoors Жыл бұрын
The one under the kitchen sink only lasted about a year and a half. The bathroom one lasted about 3 years. Definitely worth having on hand since they are fairly inexpensive. Thanks for watching!

Does this valve fit both the kitchen and the bathroom sink or are they different sizes? Good video. Thanks.

They are both the same size. Thanks for watching!

My RV was also suffering from the smell issues when using the wash basin in the bathroom.. so I replaced the Air Admittance Valves believing that it was the cause of the issue. This did not fix the problem. I did notice when I winterized the RV a few days ago.. that the same smell was coming from the water heater when I drained it... even though there were no odors when using the shower this summer. When it comes time to de-winterize.. I will fill the heater tank with vinegar and see if that fixes the odor problem.

Thank you do much for your informative video. Due to your video, we are once again enjoying our rv. Both caps, kitchen and bathroom, we're off. We are assuming it was removed by the dewinterixing company and forgotten to be recapped. After watching your video I checked and yes, they were both completely removed and setting under sinks next to the pipes. We thank you!

We have the smell coming from the wall where the pipes are for the washer and the shower. Also, I have to unscrew the cap valve thing under the kitchen sink because it doesn’t drain. Most of the time once I open the cap I hear a hiss and the water starts to drain. If the air admittance valves have gone bad can this be why we are having the smell and water draining issue?
@JouppiOutdoors9 ай бұрын
It’s definitely possible, the air admittance valve will cause draining issues. If it drains when you unscrew it, it’s definitely faulty. I’d start there for sure.

If the washer hasn't been used in a while the water will evaporate from the p-trap and the smell will escape. Put some water in the washer drain every month or so to keep that p-trap sealed with water and the smell cannot escape from there.

Mine only stinks when I turn my ac on could this help my problem??

It could be that your A/C return is pulling the fumes from the area of the valve. They are pretty cheap so I’d try this first!

Amazon type of valve?

There is a link in the description of the video. It’s called an air admittance valve. Thanks for watching!

Standard size? Will this valve fit all?

You almost lost me, 33 second intro on KZbin is way too long! Look at your nerd stats, I would guess that you lost a whole chunk of your audience in that first 33 seconds. It's helpful to get constructive feedback along with the good feedback.

I appreciate the feedback and agree the intro was too long. Thanks for watching!

That was a gracious response and you just earned my subscription. I used to edit videos, a good example to keep the audience hooked in that crucial first 20 seconds: this is (your name or channel), thanks for stopping by, please like, comment, and subscribe. Now let's get into it! 5-10 seconds intro is tolerated, but again, you might lose people. Most people happening on your channel are likely frustrated with something breaking on their RV and could care less about anything else, they just want to know how to fix it. I never really understood why there needs to be an intro, 99% of any audience is not going to pay attention to that. I hope that helps and you grow a big audience with the big paycheck from KZbin ad revenue! 🎉🎉🎉 @@JouppiOutdoors
