Why does my Samsung S20 plus keep saying no Sim card inserted.

Hey everyone. So my Samsung S20 plus kept saying no Sim Card inserted!
for about 2 weeks or more. I tried 5 different things or more. I took out the Sim card that didn't work I called the phone company that didn't work I went to the store that didn't work.
finally I went to a Metro pcs store and found someone who knew what was wrong with my phone.
I called her my Angel lol she did try a few things, then she said let me try a new Sim Card and boom that was what was wrong with my phone.
so Sim Cards EXPIRE TOO GUYS mine was more then 3 years old. wow who knew lol.

The problem likely is that the small removable simcard holder isn't made of a good material or with high precision which leads to the simcard being scratched up with time. With old phones the same simcard stood the test of time for more than 10 years. Though that isn't my phones problems sadly

Thanks! I didn't even know where my sim card was, I was trying to pull out the little thing that I though was a sim card, on the bottom of my phone.. Luckily I couldn't find tweezers small enough to get ahold of it. (I think it's my microphone). Is that an s20 elite? I love my 100x zoom!

my sim card is old but liike 2018 or 2019 but today was fine but its just saying no sim card inserted

I just replaced my Sim and it worked for a few days now same problem 😕

OK so I have a possible solution. I thought I needed charg port/ sim card reader board. As no sim message would pop up semi randomly but would happen more often when charging (wireless and cord) so Ordered one and had the same issue. Turned out to be a defective wireless charge coil. I think it had a swinging short before disassembly that became a permanent short when bent upward to remove connector. Would have signal but it would drop the second I reinstalled the wireless charge coil. Left it Uninstalled and haven't had my signal drop or no sim card message since and it's been 2 days.

Update: so it's been a few months the problem stayed away for quite a while. Ordered a new charge coil and it didn't work. As long as the coil was connected I had no service/no SIM. Believe issue is either the motherboard connector for the charge coil or something else related to that port. Leaving it disconnected was the only option.

@@Jerry-pw4ft that's probably not your problem then, likely the charge port/SIM card reader board or ribbon cable. Or even a faulty motherboard.
