I live in a humid climate! BuT i make Sea Salt soaps now! I use 1-2 Linoleic oils. I have had DOS before with my regular, not sea salt soaps. I lowered my lye:water ratio. I haven’t had any issues since

Yes, the lower the Linoleic and Linolenic the safer you will be. I've recently also found new (new to me) info regarding citric acid reducing dos as well, I've used it for hardwater issues but didn't realize that it would also bind free metals as sodium citrate. Win win for me. I now use an acid (vinegar, or kombucha, or lemon juice) in all my soap.

@@saponify6677 I knew about citric acid in soap but never thought about vinegar, kombucha or lemon juice 😄 maybe you will make a video about it 😊 and one more think what do you do with the soap that develops DOS? Thank you!🙏

Thanks for this information. I've had DOS only once, and it appeared after about eight or nine months. I attributed it to Florida humidity, but now I think it might have happened because the soap got old and maybe the superfat went rancid. It makes sense. I'm in my fifties, and I'm developing spots, too. Maybe my extra fat is going rancid. 🤨

😄Love your humor. Going for 51 myself and spots do develop no matter what 😃🌿

And here I am thinking of turning all my aging oil, butters and fats into soap to rather than throwing it out!

Do hot process and superfat afterwards with a fresh oil. This way you saponify all the older oil that could go rancid. You've got my number, give me a call if you need more guidance. 🌿
