One horror game I barely seen mentioned anywhere is Forgotten Memories Alternate Realities, a mobile classic styled survival horror from 2012 of very high quality considering the platform it was made for. The team even got the voice actors of James and Eddie from SH2 to have roles in the games. I loved it back then, too bad the sequel took so long to being made but apparently it's still in work.

That part when you open the closet door and it slowly floats away to reveal a crimson red sky engulfing the decaying hellscape of Oneiros for the first time frightened me so much. I remember being too afraid to progress through the level lol. I played it again about a year ago and it still holds up ok. A superb horror game. Oh and for Blair Witch vol.1 I just finished a playthrough of it about a week ago funnily enough lol. It's easily the best one. Volume 2 & 3 are very weak in comparison.

"WHEN THE BONDS OF FLESH ARE BROKEN, THE WORLD BECOMES APPARENT!" - I remember Undying. It was unsettling at times, but honestly I wouldn't call it a horror game. Your protagonist is too well-armed for much of the game, but even so, as a first-person shooter with some horror elements and a strong storyline for FPS games at the time, it's fantastic. I might just dig it out and play it again. Kabus 22 is a game I missed, but I do recall hearing about it. It looks interesting, and I wish I'd had the chance to try it. I remember little of BW:Rustin Parr. I owned it once, but sold my copy, can't exactly recall why. Hey, remember when reselling or trading games was a thing? Dementium...I remember the PC remake of it, but it was always one of those games on my backlog that I never really got around to, and after I started to lose interest in the horror genre around 2015 due to some family issues, I never really had the urge to pick it up. Breakdown is one I never played, as it's an Xbox exclusive.

Im a horror game fanatic. Been my favorite genre since buying Resident Evil 1 on launch day in 96. Never been a PC gamer, so I've missed every horror that was PC only, but ive played damn near, if not all console horror games. Started gaming on Atari 2600 in beginning of 80s...yes I'm an old gamer and old school gamer. I always feel the same way, like no one remembers many games i bring up other than me. And while there are some good ones still, older horror was way better and I'd LOVE to see so many of them remade with todays graphics. Besides seeing games like Manhunt and The Thing on Unreal 5, Rule of Rose, Kuon, Clock Tower, Eternal Darkness: Sanitys Requiem (top 5 favorite of all time that i still play at least every other year), and on and on. Obviously i want remakes...faithful, just put to top graphics of today, for Silent Hill 1-4. Apparently the rumor for Resident Evil now is while 9 is being made, remakes are currently underway for Zero and Code Veronica. (RE being my favorite ever franchise). Dementium was just rereleased on Switch and PS5 (maybe Xbox...new Xbox is first console i skipped since passing on 3DO, Phillips cdi, etc) , though they are literal ports...graphics look the same. A couple of horror more recently that are among my favorites would be Outlast and the Whistleblower DLC which i thought was even better, didnt like 2. But moreso, Alien Isolation (Aliens has been my favorite movie since seeing at the theater as a kid, and Evil Within 2 which is my maybe 3rd favorite game of all time. I always wondered what an open world horror would be like and that is the closest i think we've been. Actually bored to tears with publishers wanting every damn game to be open world (who has time for that?), but it can still be pulled off with a g,ood enough world not just filled with filler, and of course in this instance a partial, open world interconnected like a Dark Souls works since The LEGEND, and my favorite individual developer ever, Shinji Mikami was behind it. I know he directed the 1st, but not the 2nd, but he still oversaw the entire thing. Loved his and Suda 51s Shadows of the Damned too. Not scarey, but really fun horror that even had Akira Yamaoka doing music. Yes, i remember Breakdown...still think about it all the time. I actually mained the first Xbox that gen. PS2 had way more games but Xbox came out of the gate with monster exclusives that were incredible. Condemned, the first especially is one of my favorite games ever. 2 was good, but i still haven't gotten over them denying us the third, especially with the ending of 2. FEAR Obviously was unreal for its time. I guarantee I'm forgetting other great ones, other favorites, but this is a pretty good summation of what i love in horror I think Japanese Horror, like Japanese games in general are the best. Their stuff is in general, far creepier and far more creative. I've been on a lifelong quest to find a game that actually scares me...i always get the "sense of dread" feeling, but never scare...maybe startled by the odd jump scare. I may have found it in a way. Not exactly the game to scare me, but the gaming experience...VR Horror on psvr2. RE7 and 8 are almost like totally different experiences, but try something like Madison vr that came out last month...unfortunately I'd already played normal, so knew what to expect...Alien Rogue Incursion announced for October...ive prayed for a vr Aliens game...can't wait. I wanted Isolation to get vr added so bad, though they're better when made with vr from ground up. But imagine games like Outlast, Manhunt, a remade The Thing, Visage, etc in vr. If you haven't played vr.......lets just say it feels like it's made specifically for horror above all else. You're literally there, in the world, surrounded 360 degrees, hearing creaks from the wood planks of the floor behind you, etc...its crazy. I could go on forever. I could talk horror games forever. Not even a fan of horror movies...almost all are terrible, but admittedly i was never into them like horror games, and i haven't watched a single tv show or new movie since 2014...so 10 years. Anyway, good video. I wonder if you read comments and will even see this post.
