Why Does SHE Do All The Work? - ASK

She loves digging, math, problem solving, crochet and drinking wine. And while our Portugal renovation project, vegetable gardening and life admin are very much a joint effort, sometimes it doesn't appear that way on camera.
In this video we explain how we approach dividing up the workload and show you a bit more progress on our ground floor farm house conversion.

It's hilarious to me how, others assume, one is doing more than the other. Simply because they are not the one being filmed. Well hello, these are only between 15-45 minute long videos. Obviously, the work is being distributed! 😂 I too love doing manual labor also, so I get it. You do you, people are way too jugdy. You're both amazing and I admire the hard work you guys are doing and achieving wonderful results . ❤️

Your mom sounds so much like mine did. I give her all the credit for the strong foundation that made me the woman I am today. She was a single mom with 5 kids on a cattle farm in the 60s and 70s and there was never a question if a job was “man’s work” or “woman’s work”- it was just work and it had to be done. Thank god for that lesson- it has served me well for 67 years. I can cook, sew, keep house, design, create, but also set a fence post and stretch barbed wire with a come-along if need be. I enjoy it all. God bless our mamas.

I find as a woman many of the tasks are achievable but it will take me longer to accomplish. There is no job that does not include some aspects that are less agreeable than others. The joy comes with the completion of the project and accomplishment of my goals. I could not afford all the improvements to my home without my labor. That labor makes the final project's contribution to my environment and life all the greater because of it. And it pushes me to tackle things I haven't a clue how to do until I research it. It broadens me as a person and provides more freedom as I am less dependent. So keep on keeping on in what you do. It works for you and harms no one else. Your home is going to be a fabulous home for you two.

Kylie, I am the one who like to take the photos of my husband working on one of our projects & people assume he is doing the work all by himself. That is when I ask: WHY do you think there are 2 ladders? There was one time when I was doing all the digging for some steps...as my husband has back problems, but I took a photograph of him digging. Again, the assumption was that I did not contribute except to take photos. These are people who sit back and watch everyone else....They are projecting themselves in the situation.

I don't have the upper body strength of a young man so I'm slower and sometimes need to ask for help but mostly can find a way. I've noticed across many channels that viewers forget that there are 10000 minutes in a week and we see 15 minutes of their life! Just ignore those comments - you do not need to 'splain yourselves!
