and heres the official reason as explained by the animators. at the time gogeta debuted in gt it wasn't known if there would have been new arcs or that gt would end. the animators decided to believe there would be multiple arcs after omega shenron was defeated so they gave gogeta a different looking ssj4 as a possible foreshadow to a different form that would have been shown in a later arc
