Would you please tell me...are you working on cold pressed or hot pressed paper here? (I assume 100% cotton?) I just purchased my first block of Arches, cold pressed, 100% cotton, and I'm having a heck of a time painting detail on the bumpy paper. Thanks.

@@smz5302 Hi, my paper is cold pressed and isn't cotton rag. The one I use is a Bockingford block pad, the surface is created using natural woollen felts that give it a distinctive random texture, very nice to work and is a mid-range sort of price. I do have the Arches CP block as well, but like you, I do find it's a much rougher texture than my Bockingford, I will still use it though just to make sure this expensive paper is used up. Paul 🤔

Oh wow! After much trial and error I came up with this same technique! That's so interesting! I wonder how many others have come up with this after much trial and error as well? I wish I could have watched a video like this back then, it would have saved me all that trial and much error 🤣🤣. But..............there wasn't such thing as the internet back then (LOL tell me you're older without telling me you're older)

LOL, thank you Amy, yes I'm in my middle years if that makes any sense, but I have been painting for over 40 years, so there's been a lot of trial and error. I hope to help others avoid some of the mistakes I've made over the years. Paul 🎨
