A star went supernova and the sun was born as well as a protoplanetary disk around it. The protoplanetary disk formed the planets bt lets focus on earth and Theia. Theia doesnt have a stable orbit around the sun and then... BOOM! Theia and Earth collided and that fragment became the moon. (Fun fact: There was a 2nd moon that didnt have enough force and crashed into earth.)
