Thank you for these videos! I'm a total neophyte working through some minor issues with a recently acquired Rock-ola 460, and your videos (combined with the manual) have been extremely helpful.

very cool to see how older technology like this works! as someone who is a bit newer to electrical engineering its pretty easy to forget how things used to be.

The nice thing about the 70's jukeboxes is that most all of these electrical components can still be obtained, even the germanium transistors. So they are certainly fixable, even for a non engineer like myself. I should have mentioned in the video that if all else fails, swap the write in relay (K3) with the stop relay (K4) to assure yourself the relay itself is ok. On occasion you will get a bad relay.......often because someone over fused the circuit which, unfortunately, is fairly common.

Thanks so much for all your repair vids on jukeboxes. I ma watching them multiple times! Just started with my first jukebox- a Rock-ola 464 and I made a mistake already. The gripper motor was "bad" and out of the machine but complete. I ordered another one and while waiting I took the gripper apart and cleaned it well- it needed it as it was licked up. Now I have the problem: How to synchronize the gripper gears with the shaft containing the 3 micro switches on the end. Can you help or give me a pic of how it all aligns? I got the trouble shooting guide you recommended but it did not show alignment. Thanks for all you do.

Tis would include how the 2 gears in the gripper gearing should be together and where they connect to the other shaft housing the switches

Before you put the gripper motor back in place, rotate the front gear on the gripper assembly clockwise until the gripper bow is back over the record magazine (home position). Just before you can't rotate it any longer, you should hear a "click" of the #1 microswitch going into it's divot on the back cam. Need to remove the metal back door to see this. As long as the #1 microswitch is in it's "divot", it is safe to put your gripper motor back in to mesh the gears. If you have doubt, you can rotate the knob on the bottom of the gripper motor until you hear the click. Should happen two or three turns before you can't turn knob any longer. Incidentally, there are 4 microswitches back there, not three.

Thank you so much. I see how to do it now- just waiting on new motor to arrive. While waiting I bought a 460 that does not write in. It does work as I pushed selection lever on and it did read it and select a record. So maybe issue in the push button area!@@williamweisel2176

Hello Will, love the videos. Not many people out there working on these bad boys. Is it possible for me to send you a video of our Rockola 444? It worked for a long time, then had a record jam but now just goes as far as the write-in and no record select or play. All the fuses and motors are good. Thanks for any help.
