Dear Dr. Taimur. Your elaboration of the topic and the conclusion is great, but since you talked about the Pakistani leftist you forgot to comment on Quranic Left and Right which essentially effects the Pakistani politics as Religious Card and Political Islam are the favorite tactics of some rather most politicians. Quranic Left and Right though deal with the life hereafter but in Pakistan it is applied in our material and present day lives of Pakistanis. This is a unique situation. I can't touch all its aspects in detail here but it has an immense effect in shaping Pakistani politics and mentality of Pakistanis who will ultimately be the members of all the leftist parties also. Hope you keep this aspect in mind when touching this topic in future.

My feedback: The point is not to agree upon all disagreements, what I mean when I ask someone to the question "Why don't all Pakistani leftists unite?" is that under current circumstances why not left work together for the betterment of society. Like a family with a different point of view but choosing a united stance on an issue and then work together to achieve that. Indeed a healthy debate with different views in the only way to propose novel solutions to novel problems. I can now clearly see a rise of united left in Pakistan and I am really hopeful that it will grow stronger only.

If we observe the actions of the centre-right/right wing in Pakistan, we'll notice a common pattern of forming coalitions like PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement), IJI (Islami Jamhoori Ittehad), MMA (Mutahhida Majlis e Amal), etc. So I wonder why dont the left parties form such a coalition ATLEAST before the elections. This can be helpful, as it can allow everybody to have their differences of opinion like the former, and also make it easier for the voter group to get amalgamated under one banner for a temporary period of time.

The closest party that may resemble a Democratic socialist agenda at least for the poor masses is pti. They have set a programme that looks into the issues of the poor and disenfranchised. But, nearly all the parties that have ruled Pakistan in the modern era are capitalist and implement neo liberal capitalist principles where there is a huge facilitation of the concentration of capital and funds in very few hands, as you know. There has been a great reliance on private capital in Pakistan in terms of investment and job creation which hasn't worked very well at all. A Democratic socialist set up from the outset would ensure the government takes the lead in investment through public investment in projects. For example hospitals, schools and housing thus creating jobs and opportunities. 😉

Leftist are not been able to successful in Pakistan as they talk about equal distribution of money, a fair justice system and equal opportunity to grow while enjoying perks and privileges of elite class rather than a middle class and lower middle class. Why people will come out for this type of revolution that their leftist leaders won’t be able to deliver. 2nd reason is our education system that is not productive and discourage to question the social norms and values. If we need a modern society that believe in socialism and respect and encourage democratic values then we have to really work on the education system and the ability of an individual to raise and face questions.

the problem is with those people who want to use Lenin and Stalin's posters everywhere, not the anarchists, i have seen many anarchists and social democrats, none of them display their heroes on banners and with that regularity as Leninists do, neither do they identify themselves under that hero's umbrella. If there is anyone who is developing a very narrow identity, its only the Leninists. These identities are not to be used or displayed in united platforms, a united leftist platform cannot accommodate any idea that is specific to one group only. Also, anarchists don't deny leaders or organizations, if you listen to Prof. Chomsky, he regularly emphasizes on organizing, anarchism stresses more on everyone's participation, not to abolish organizational structure as a whole

China is literally doing genocide on innocent civilians in the name of THEIR authoritarian philosophy India is attempting to initiate a Nazi inspired genocide on it's Muslims in the name of Hindutva. India's PM is literally a mass murdering RSS terrorist. And what genocide? You mean the one that literally only Bangladesh and India recognize (while no other nation does)? You do realize that the 3 million dead Bengalis thing is a lie right? Even some Bangladeshi historians have criticized that number as being highly inflated. According to the US state department 500,000 people died IN TOTAL (including soldiers). And almost 150,000 of the deaths were Biharis massacred by Bengali ethno-nationalists backed by India. And they were the ones that initiated the violence btw
