Remodeling something that isn't even close to being what you want is downright awful. We're remodeling our OLD house. It's been a 10 year process and we aren't even close to being done. My husband hates when we choose a room to remodel, he's miserable the whole time we're working on it. We're praying for our next perfect place. We want a smaller home with lots of land. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Happy Anniversary! Our house story is so similar to yours! We bought property with an old house on it. We have taken down the house and working towards getting a foundation in soon. We are using old house footprint. Our property had an old workshop type building and we considered using as a tiny house but decided against that. We love following you guys on here! ❤️

Have you considered building what we call a Pole Barn Building Home. It is made from a large metal building like people often use for barns and garages and then you finish the inside to be a home. Some of them are gorgeous and the price is so much more economical vs building a regular type home. In KY the price of a 1600 sq ft pole finished into a home will costs us less than $80,000 vs building a regular home which would cost us about 35 percent more.

Happy anniversary. I hope you have many more beautiful years together. I look forward to seeing your new house build. How exciting to build a new home and to make it exactly what you need for your family. That old house is in bad shape but you could salvage some of the building supplies. Having lived in a house with a mold problem, I can suggest using eucalyptus oil on any wood to kill the mold. It really works. Just rub it all over the wood and the mold will die and it never comes back.
@jasonandjulie3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip about the eucalyptus oil! I have not heard that before. We have salvaged things from the old house already we built this little one. We took the clawfoot bathtub, a sink and some windows. It was a blessing!

That old house reminds me of some I lived in as a youngster...Remember that was more and likely done with limited resources and money on serious tight time line..I respect the way old timers ways, no debt, what they had,what help they had to work .. but that place is a huge nightmare...I like old house's too...

Black mold is extremely hard to get rid of. We bought a house that had a band-aid on black mold. It came back a lot worse than it was before. I believe that building on top of the older structure would definitely become in undated with mold as well. Happy Anniversary to you guys! Enjoy watching your video's, Thanks for sharing.

Yes I’ve heard that! Sorry you had to deal with it in your house ☹️

@@jasonandjulie yes we finally had to move because it was too much and they said we should totally gut the inside and basically start over. The house was finally torn down. Thankfully you guys decided not to use the existing structure. Have a great weekend!

Happy anniversary to the both of you !💜 My husband and I have been married for 17 years ! You are definitely right about being married .... It's not always perfect ! But then if it were.... It would be somewhat boring ! When we got married , we both took our vows very serious ! My husband always says , " When you're married , there is no back door !" Meaning , when you're not getting along or things aren't going easy , you stick it out with one another ! Also we sincerely believe that we have to put the Lord in the middle of our marriage ! And "nothing can break a 3 strand cord" when God is at the center ! Anyway , I can understand why you don't reuse the old house ! Black mold especially , is very hard to get rid of it ! You basically have to cut out or completely tear out that whole section where it's located ! We have an old style house and in the city .... We want to move either down south where we are going for our trip Or move somewhere out of the city but sort of close by .... We aren't sure yet ! But we are asking for the Lord's way and his direction on when and where ! So we have been praying for his direction , looking for an answer from him and trusting that he has a plan ! Maybe not yet but in his timing .... Anyway , hope all is well with you and your family ! Love and Blessings Andrea 💜

If that is true knotty pine paneling in the house is worth money! If it is actual pieces of wood and not thin panels . It would be worth it to check . If you want to sale it try getting in touch with someone who restores older homes . Most times they will come and take it out themselves. Be sure to tell them that it hasn't been painted. Thought it might add to the building home fund. Good luck.

Black mold kills, including animals. To be safe to even remove black mold you would need respirators. No explanations needed. 👍 👍How could I be so thoughtless! Happy sweet 16th anniversary! And wouldn't it be great if Jesus came quickly so y'all could raise your kids in your Heavenly mansion!!!
