My heart breaks for Donny. He was robbed of so much. He is trying to honor the Lord in obedience, but the desire outside of God is still pulling on him. After I read his interview online, I went in prayer for his deliverance. We can not win against sin in our own strength and if we are still fighting against a certain sin, then we are not delivered from that sin. For me, my sin was pornography which was also introduced to me at a young age. For years I struggled, I fought, I went months and sometimes years to only fall back into the same sin. I would actually cry in resentment and disgust, but still continued in the same sin. All of this why being a follower and believer in Christ. One day, I sat up in my bed and I said to God, I do not want to continue in this sin and I need you to help me out of this. I can not continue to do what I hate. Something got to give. Jesus overcame sin so I could be free. That's been at least 12 years ago. And when the enemy knew I was free and was not moved or pulled, he would attempt to creep in my dreams while I was unconscious. But guess what, my prayer life was so built up that he couldn't prevail over me even when I was not conscious. I'm free y'all! I've been celibate for about 20 years and I'm like, I'm not letting nobody mess up my good life. I love my life with the Lord, serving in outreach ministry, and living life with my kids and grandkids. I'm full and complete, and at times, I like to have some me time to myself.

This made me sad not because I pity Pastor Donnie but because I want him to have the family that he desires. His ministry has blessed my life for as long as I can remember. I actually attended his church for awhile and at the time my husband and I wanted to have a child. He led an altar call and one of the ministers at the church actually prayed for my husband and I. We had our child within the year. Pastor Donnie truly has blessed me and so many others and I believe that the best is yet to come for him.❤🙏❤

We fell in Love back in 1973......, I live in Phila.....he lived back then in my Dad's hometown of Va. We never told each other how we felt. Not until when he came looking for me. He obtained my phone number from my cousin and he called me. After talking on the phone every night he confessed that he always had deep feelings for me. I was surprised to hear this from him. He had held back all those years because he thought that I was possibly seeing someone in Philly.. After 38 years and knowing now how we have always felt for one another our Love of the Lord has burst a full and new Love for each other. We will be getting married next year. I am 67 and he is 66. You’ve just taken this Scripture out of context. We can ask, seek and knock but in doing so we must realise that God is still the only One who decides our lot in life. He is the Father and we are His children. He alone is good and wise and so even as we ask, we submit all our requests to His love and sovereignty. If you have children of your own you would know that while a good Father listens to his children, he doesn’t always give his children what they ask for even when they do it with tears or when it seems good in their eyes, but is something which the parent in their wisdom has determined it not to be beneficial to the child who is asking. God is infinitely wiser, better and more loving than the best of men, and in His goodness he withholds some of the things we ask for from us. However, the way you’ve interpreted this scripture is that we determine what we get; God must meet our demands when we make them and if we do not have what we have it’s because we have not asked or bothered God enough or we do not have enough faith. Heaven forbid that God can actually say no to us! What an entitled way to look at God. In fact, if this is your interpretation of this Matthew 7:7-12 then it makes the person requesting god and God basically a vending machine. Matthew 7:7-12 is not a carte blanche to get whatever you want or a blank cheque. Rather Jesus was encouraging us to freely approach our loving Father with our requests and desires trusting that he will not withhold anything good from us (Luke 11:13 actually tells us that this good thing is in fact the Holy Spirit, not money, fast cars or earthly treasures as some people teach). But anyone who is a true follower of Christ and believes God, will understand that it is God, not him/her who determines what “good” and should trust, like Donny has said in this clip, that no matter what God gives or withholds, all things will work together for the good of those who love Him. This is what true faith in God is, but it’s often confused with faith in ourselves or even in faith. It is also unfair to assume that all Brother Donny is doing is wishing for a family. Do you know how many times he has cried (and still cries) out to and begged God for marriage and children? Do you see him at night on his knees. I have friends who have been waiting for more than 10 years for children and pray every single day for this, and it’s heartbreaking when people say what you posted or tell them - you’re not praying enough, or have enough faith or haven’t decreed and declared enough. You might think you’re sending blessings but it’s just more heartbreak. Please stop saying stuff like this when you meet brothers and sisters who are waiting on God for something. God does as He wills, how he wills, when he wills. That he has given us the privilege through his Son to ask does not mean that we are the ones who determine our fate or decide what we have. God alone is sovereign and He has given us the best - His Son. This is enough to assure us that whatever we have or don’t, God loves us and is for us. Blessed be our God!

He's trying to walk in THE truth. In God's truth, and that supercedes any thought, idea, or desire I may have. If there is something in me that is sinful (and there have been many things), I won't find joy by leaning in to the sin because it makes me feel good for a moment. Even if it means that there are some things I can't have or do, I have to be willing to deny myself and follow Christ. To choose God's will, even over my own will. To trust that his will and his plan is better than anything I could devise.

Thank you for sharing the video. Its so sad to see how past experiences can often shape our lives and dreams. I have know of Pastor Donnie for a very long time and his singing has no doubt been a huge blessing to my life and of course, to many others. Its heart breaking to hear his story and that marriage and family for him is extremely challenging. I am not so sure what happened to the lady with who he had a son with, and also it seems like things did not work out with Nicole Mullen but through this all, I am glad he had the courage to move on in his walk with God. I think whether married or single, our sole purpose is to live out God's plan for our lives and keep honoring Him by walking faithfully and obediently to His Word and to His Will. I know this in my own life, I am 55 years old (never married and no kids) just a single lady, serving the Lord wherever His will leads and walking with Him, being in His presence daily and enjoying that presence, encouraging others and sharing my faith. My journey over the past 22 years took me to 6 countries (where I worked as a missionary teacher) Singapore, China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Turkey and also I lived in Thailand, Panama, Colombia, and France. And wherever I went I just delighted in being the salt and light we are called to be, and a vessel of His love, kindness, compassion and mercy. God bless you Pastor Donnie, keep shining as the beautiful gemstone God has shaped your life into and may your life and singing continue bless many, many more people as you honor God and faithfully walk with Him all of your days.
