While I originally used GZDoom to play Doom, nowadays I also use Crispy Doom and Woof to play Vanilla Doom (thanks to you btw) and I only use GZ for advance mods like Aeons of Death. However I may one day permanently switch to Woof (it just needs 2 features from Crispy though). And yes I do agree with your take on Doom Midis but as a metalhead, I still think Doom 1 has the best midis out there.

Some things I hate about DE (In general, not vs D2) - Snapmap was something I LOVED with 2016. It let you have endless singleplayer content. So when I heard DE wouldn't have it, I was so sad. The ideas and thoughts I had of maps and old school remakes were completely erased. - It's story has SO MUCH stuff that was missed. Exploring more of the Maykers, The fact we're in Hell for like 20% of the whole game, DLC included. Or the fact Samuel was just literally forgotten in the story. This would be fine, but DE does try to make you care about the story. But when there's so many plot holes and missed potential, it ends up hurting it. - Battlemode is a mess. It's the most painful multiplayer I've probably played minus Counter Strike Competitive mode lol! We only ever got 1 new demon, and 1 new map. - Master levels, while cool, there's like 3 or 4. There's 5 if you preordered Honestly, I feel like DE has many flaws, but most people just don't admit it. Prob cause the DE fanbase died out after TAG2 sucked ass lmao!

As a major DE fan, all I can think of right now is "we know" Although the lore is actually more cohesive than you made it out to be but it's told by sitting down and reading entries and also just invented a lot of lore that, whilst does make sense, it still had no buildup from 2016... like the makyrs

Custom wads got me into Touhou, specifically Sunlust, Stardate20X7, and a zdoom megawad based on the series. Regardless of sourceport (I personally use PRBoom+ and GZDoom), classic Doom is BETER with mods.

The Super Slayer mod is basically required for Eternal to be good. DOOM 2 is good without any mods. However, I prefer GZDOOM; I want pitch aim.

I like classic doom more because of all the custom content, and how easy making content is. With a lot of the main tools being highly documented (udb, zscript, dehacked) also desthmatch is really fun.

Tough question. Out of those I've played that come to mind, in no particular order: Eviternity 2, Ad Mortem, Antaresian Reliquary, Hordamex (kind of cheating but eh) and Magnolia are pretty good.

doom as a franchise is enjoyable and entertaining, it has some good and bad decisions made through out the history, for example doom 3 not being too much of a doom and doom 4 they were making which was remade into doom 2016, but for what it is you can more or less get an enjoyable experience, i personally prefer doom 2016 over both eternal and 2 but well...we enjoy different things on different level, i gotta agree on modding scene tho, doom 2 has such a dedicated modding scene that it will be safe to assume that doom 2 is quite literally immortal, doom eternal for being a modern game is harder to mod of course, skins and AI alteration mods are bare minimum of what doom 2 modding does and i`m still surprised the how deathmatch wasn`t in a MP of eternal but at least 2016 has it, overall it`s fine if anyone thinks doom 2 is the best game, as long as nobody is biased and butthurt because someone else has an opinion different from them

Now really both Duke 3d and classic Doom games have a terrible hard mode difficulty "Damn Im Good" and "Nightmare" sucks like for duke I need to gib enemies to actually get rid of them but there are not much explosives in the game. Classic Doom's nightmare keeps spawning enemies. I like Doom Eternal's nightmare mode is because that the game is actually balanced and once you master it, it's super easy. Doom 2016's nightmare was annoying cuz I could get one shotted by a Imp that acts like a sniper.

This is a very personal preference but I've always preferred Doom 2 (and classic doom in general) more so than doom eternal, mainly for pacing and its ease of modding. Maybe its because I played on console, and console isnt as good as pc for arena shooters, but I never entirely enjoyed the gameplay of DE, and thus still havent completed the thing. I also am addicted to modding, and Doom is by far the easiest game to make and play mods for period. DE's story also feels awfully forced unlike even 2016. I also got a bad taste in my mouth after it breeded an age of armchair intellectuals that think they know game design after playing DE on U. Nightmare a few times (AHEM UNDERTHEMAYO AHEM), as well as the fanbase being decently rabid at times, like that one time where the only "criticism" they can make towards someone (who made an admittedly shiet video on 2016 vs Eternal) was harassing them based on their gender. Not forgetting to mention the whack ass "demon community" that ran amuck on instagram that i had associations with. :skull: Also, some generic meat stroking words here, but I've been watching you for the past couple months and youve definitely become one of my favorites within this boomer shooter community. Keep up your good work. :3
