If your local church has a cooler security system than dragon heads, I need receipts! What did you think? Let me know in the comments below.

The work that you are doing to teach us about world religions is so interesting!! You should meet David Butler, who is LDS. He is an institute teacher at Utah Valley University. I watch his KZbin Channel every week (Don't Miss This) where he teaches about that week's "Come Follow Me" lesson. But besides being a teacher and a scriptorian, he LOVES learning about world religions!! You two should do some kind of a collaboration!! I would definitely watch!! Both my mother (who is still alive) and her mother (who has passed) are such devout members of the LDS Church, and yet, they both also loved learning about different world religions. Truth can be found in many different places. Love you Brother Boice!! Keep up the good work!! And keep letting us know about your faith journey in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can't wait to hear about when you go to the Temple to receive your endowment!! 🙏 🌎 ⛪️ ❤

Stave churches are cool historical landmarks in Norway-I have visited a few of them there (I had no idea that we had replica churches built here in the United States. Loved the video, David.

I grew up in Rapid City-the first house my parents built was right in front of the Chapel in the Hills. As a little girl, I loved watching all of the brides in the Summer right out my bedroom window. I no longer live in Rapid City, but have 3 different very large watercolors of the chapel hanging in our home.

Thanks for looking into the history of each of these churches and sharing it with us. It is so interesting to see the history of worship services and buildings for different groups.

bro you should take history as a profession, this is extremely well done!

When I meet you in person, I'll help you pronounce "Stave Kirke" in Norwegian. 😁 Thanks for this video! My ancestry is primarily Norwegians who immigrated to Minnesota. Many family members are still devout Lutheran.

Very interesting church tour! I wish I'd known about this last summer when we visited Mt Rushmore, I'd love to go visit there.

I always look forward to watching your fascinating unique church histories, even though I usually need to watch them several days later. Dragons are fascinating as a "Security system" 🐉, but I am sure that Angel Moroni and Jesus Christ provide much longer-lasting security for the eternities. 😇 👼 (But I would like to be able to visit a Stave church. Because that is not possible--I appreciate your very thorough research and interesting presentations. (Though I hope someday you will insert some more videos about your spiritual journey and how we can "Think Celestial" and bring others closer to knowing how much Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven love us and help us through our struggles with faith here on earth. Thanks, again, David. May you feel the Spirit guiding you as you serve and help others--especially your encouragement for us to help support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 💖

Wonderful. I loved hearing about the history. But why are you saying dragon with a long "a" vowel?

Aaaaakk. I was just in Rapid City last year and didn't know about the stave church. It would have been nice to pay a visit since I have Norske and Danske ancestry.

Thanks, David. The tar would be highly flammable.

Very true. Unfortunately, it sounds like there was a string of arsons that targeted some of the Norwegian stave churches in the '90's. In addition to the dragons as a medieval security system, sounds like cameras and fencing is needed too as of late.

It's cool they have these still around. It's my belief that Odinn the Allfather is Heavenly Father and Baldr is Jesus Christ, just different names. All these world religions originated from Adam at the beginning of times.

Wow you really mutilated the pronunciation of stavkirke. 😊 It's pronounced stahv-sheerkuh. BTW I think you'd make a great Viking--you've got a great beard going on there.
@gwengold81542 күн бұрын
In David's defense, I googled the pronunciation, and one site pronounced it exactly as David said it. The other site pronounced it as you have said.

@@gwengold8154 They also use the same wors in Scotland where it is pronounced with a hard K sound. In Norwegian it is as I described
