Really depends on what we're measuring lyricism by but that alone is a good indicator. We're not using Kendrick lyrics in our captions. No matter how anyone feels about Drake, we gotta give credit where it's due. Drake can hold his own with his pen and the bars connect with the masses for sure. Not a huge Jay Z fan, but gotta admit his bars will have you contemplating and even living by them all while being cleverly delivered. I see the same with Drake. Kendrick is a great storyteller, but I don't think his lyrics have the same level of depth, intricacy and relatability. Pusha beef... Bro the only line anyone talked about is the bar exposing his child. Nothing more. Disappointing but 🤷🏽‍♂️ To your point about the hip-hop heads lacking respect, supports my case entirely.
