lil baby said he views rap like a 9 to 5. its an insult to his listeners, he just churns out basic music to make a quick buck. how about you let this new wave inspire you to go deeper. i was 14 when i got into rap music. so many incredible albums in the 2010s. i fell off of it after the soundcloud era (which i also loved). I just stopped listening to music in general for a long time, maybe mindless radio pop songs. kendrick really brought me back last year. the ice spice and the same old tiktok sounds over and over. dont get me wrong there was some good ones. but nowadays, i really feel a shift. i wish more artists would take it as a moment to reflect and want to put out good art, a good legacy, really showcase themselves, instead of running away. it's inspiring. i am also getting back into painting and art, which i also took a long break from in recent years

Authenticity matters. Drake has little to none, which explains the spot he's in today. It wasn't difficult to tear his image as a "hard" rap artist because, for years even before the beef, people were already calling him a culture vulture, cosplayer, poseur acting out a role. Just look at The Rock and his brand at this moment. He's been exposed as a fake celebrity, so now people hate on him. It's the same thing in every artistic endeavor: people hate fakers.

You’re right. The only thing you’re missing is… Drake knows about the system and that system has always backed him in everything. Especially war/beefs…. They didn’t support meek so it made Drake seems bigger…. Pusha really knocked him down, but again the system protected Drake and didn’t Pushas music…. Drake went at Kdot at the wrong time. UMG was the mole in Drakes camp (my theory…just by the timing and how Kdot knew when to drop and crush him😂😂. UMG kept letting Kdot team know what’s up😂😂). UMG not willing to pay him the other $600 million. Why not let Kdot drop and let the fans decide? When Drake drop don’t push the system…. This is why the boy is mad. His rich baby daddy won’t save him

Lil Baby is too concerned about what people say about him on the internet, from Akademiks, to the speculation of him falling off, is what led to people not being excited about his music anymore even sooner. I’m from the south, yes Lil Baby and artists like him have had a huge impact, but like many other artists like Baby his music becomes too repetitive after a while. The main artist from ATL that I’ve stuck with since the beginning of his career is Future. Cause dude been able to re invent himself every time, and still keep his music interesting and exciting.

There is a time and place for every kind of rap. Lil baby's type of rap is good for turning up and having fun-- which is good. The problem comes when this type of music becomes the staple and over-saturates the industry. The worst thing that can happen to hip hop and rap is for it to ONLY be equated to this type of music-- ignorant and without substance. We need more Lupes, more Micks, more Coles, and more Kendricks (to name a few) to become the staple-- people making art. Art that can have substance and be ignorant sometimes. There's no nuance is turn up music, and it shows no effort.
