This is all absolutely true - it's next to impossible for me to meditate for up to a week after a few drinks...sleep suffers, poor food choices are more likely, exercise suffers, negative internal dialogue increases. Sometimes the difference between having the energy/motivation to do something or not can be, like, 1%...if you just had that tiny bit more then you'd make that change or do that positive thing...whereas booze pretty much makes sure you never do. If you multiply that over a life time then you end up in a far darker place than you would have otherwise. The tragedy of course is that you never realise this parallel timeline you've created for yourself...or the one that you missed.

I lost my interest in alcohol many years ago. I was never addicted to the substance but i have realized I've been trying to escape my life for a very long time. I always thought i would die young and i actually did die at the age of 17. I partied myself to death, i was flatlined and pronounced dead on the scene. The medics did their work and so did God. I'm 47 now and glad to have the chance to still be here. If you are reading this i hope you can realize how special you are as a spirit being having this wonderful human experience. Life is a blessing...an opportunity to experience the physical. You, as a spirit being, chose to incarnate here for the experience. You are strong beyond measure...you are Love and Love is the energy that binds all things. That's how strong you are.

Have binged at times in past. Comes a time where you want to level up full-stop. Not partaking for long stretches does absolute wonders. You reclaim your true self back - and better - and you're back in control as the Hero of your own life. God winks at you. MAYBE disciplined moderation or occasional in future - but once you've killed it and your energy is back optimal - you're literally not even thinking about it! Quite the life hack modern society doesn't want masses to know.
