Hey Guys, I know this video might seem kinda extreme... I want to clarify that I LOVE the Rock; however, if you look at his box office numbers , you'll see he has some of the most expensive movies ever (www.the-numbers.com/movies/production-company/Seven-Bucks-Productions) that that isn't from an industry titan like a Disney or Paramount. Anyways, we're a small channel on our way to 1000 subscribers, talking about the psychology of mainstream media, so if that interests you, it would mean the WORLD to us if you subscribe - thank you!! ❤ www.youtube.com/@MindfulMediaPsychology?sub_confirmation=1

There’s even one scene where they put a gun in his face and he begs for his life, which was very out of character for Mr. Dwayne Johnson. I expected him to take the gun out the guys hand and give him a rock bottom. But no, he stands there for his life like any normal man would and that situation. I like the movie. He has the acting skills of a pro wrestler, and it’s hard not to notice. While his good looks once worked in his favor, years of bulking up have diminished that appeal, leaving us with a colossal figure whose acting remains subpar-though his surprisingly good singing abilities deserve credit. He’s no Michael Jai White when it comes to action movie combat skills, nor is he on par with Russell Crowe as an actor. Once charming and handsome, he seems to have lost both his looks and his allure, and audiences have grown wise to the cracks in his persona. And so, here we are.
@TCampariАй бұрын
The rock is only partially to blame for his recent movie failures. The bulk of the blame rest in writer/ directors. His arrogance and his disconnected perspective on what audiences like. But I’d say more if the blame should go to the writer/ directors of his movies. His movies are bad with or without him. And even without having to pay his bloated paycheck, those movies would still be financial failures. He doesn’t have the influence to green light these poorly written, poorly directed movies.

@@MindfulMediaReviews You argue "if he wants to" problem: He's listed as an ACTION movie star. Tell me, what's the last action movie you recall Jean Claude Van Damme in that wasn't at least a decade ago. Stallone, other than maybe light work in Tulsa King. Arnie... Hell Michael Jai White's impressive in the vein of still doing it for his age. The reality is he got that big because we all know Rock's doing SOMETHING that wouldn't likely be healthy or legal. Action takes a toll on the body, and you just can't do the same bullshit you pulled off at 25-30 yrs old when your 55-70. It doesn't work. Hercules was pushing it, as far as I'm concerned; and what I liked about that movie was that it made allowances to accept the myths for what they were while offering a genuinely intelligent subversion that they might also not be what they'd been stated. If he was any other type of actor, MAYBE he could still do roles. However there comes a point where you have to weight the money you've made is probably enough and it's always best to go out on a high note. (Not that Pacino or De Niro really seemed to get that message so at least he's not alone) His feeds have likely transitioned into a walking billboard because he was ALWAYS a political beast. It wasn't about acting to him. It was a vehicle. Fame, and fortune. Wrestling is a dangerous and financially costly sport on the body. His career therein wasn't stellar when he moved into the Scorpion King. Now it's going sour again, and he's moved to a more business focused aspect. Because he's generated more than enough passive income not to have to give a flying rat's ass how his movies do at the box office.

The problem with Dwayne Johnson as well as several "Big Name Celeb-Actors-Filmmakers" is that their talents are slowly becoming nothing more than a gimmick. People like Dwayne are mentioned to be the world's highest-grossing/paid actors, which represents their greatest in Hollywood. But that couldn't be farther than the truth. Any half competent actor/filmmaker that knows what type of movie audiences want to see can be far more memorable than what Dwayne has given us. Had it not been for his reputation, than the dude probably never even had a chance with most of his movies getting the viewership they got. Great actors and filmmakers are talented and intelligent to understand the flow of audiences and not only be able to give exceptional films/TV, but control the flow of such audience and exploit the weaknesses of other bigger celebs style and ethics, that you'd hear more buzz about those films and shows, compared to another. Now that may not make sense, so let me put an example: Say at school you notice so much buzz about the #1 student in your grade that everyone hails him as a popular prodigy, who's so amazing, yet during some competition, they get an opponent who while has some notable strengths isn't that known for being popular. And yet, somehow they managed to beat that popular student. THIS, is the issue with Dwayne and other "Big Name Celebs" and why their talents are simply gimmicks. Okay, inheriting fame from family, being a famous athlete, a vocal musician/singer, or possessing some talent that immediately gets you media-famous, will distinguish you from your peers when you're young. It gives you an INNATE strength. But that strength has a sealing. Celebrities like Dwayne have a proclivity to be hailed as geniuses or prodigies when they're in billion dollar movies. But is there ever one today famous worldwide for his/her multiple movies? Earning a recognition for their characters? Being recognize from playing so many different roles, without it feeling off? Dwayne is barely above average when it comes to his reputation in Hollywood. He's only known for his movie net worth because that's the problem. Once others can train and catch up to him, Dwayne's talents and abilities are nothing but a gimmick. You can find better shows or films, compared to his that tell such stories far more exceptional, featuring actors who either were in action movies, or started out in a different genre, but turned to action. That's why most celebs with having one memorable talent are casted in such film or shows and nothing else, and if they did try, they suck. Because that's the best usage Hollywood has for them. It doesn't matter how long Dwayne trains, practices making faces to charm people, or says whatever one-liner a thousand times. He will never come close to how he wants to be recognize, as he mentions in his Oppenheimer comment. With that said, I'm not saying that celebrities' talents are worthless. They're just gimmicks. Gimmicks can be useful but SOLELY RELYING ON THEM will get you stuck in mediocrity. There is a limit for the amount of power a celebrity with such a reputation can achieve. Which is Dwayne's biggest problem himself. That's because he refuses to learn other acting skills and techniques that aren't related to what he's famous for doing, apart from the most basic ones, he can easily learn from any director who makes the demands for his/her cast. This ignorance from Dwayne always making demands of what he wants out of his characters, like he's trying to maintain some kind of purity in Hollywood is pathetic. That's why people like me despise these kinds of celebs. And Dwayne is the worst of them all. Even the best action stars you hear about either today or from the past weren't that strict when it came to their movie choices or acting style. And sometimes, people forget that they would star in such projects that defied most people's expectations. Those are the kinds actors/actresses/filmmakers, who's talents were worth preserving. But people like Dwayne Johnson don't bother learning other acting skills, from fear that it will somehow taint their precious persona. It might be true that some aren't as inherently skilled when in comes to their roles in film or tv. But that hardly matters. To all future actors or popular folk in some other field like sports or music, who seek to break into acting, understand this: When I tell you have more potential than people like Dwayne Johnson, I mean as AN ACTOR. A FILMMAKER. Not as WHATEVER PEOPLE ONLINE KNOW YOU FOR. If you branched out and actually certain skills to act that suit your talents, using your gimmick when it's worthwhile, you would become FAR MORE INFLUENCIAL ANYWHERE. You would attain the skill to be in any movie, show, or even video game, without feeling miscast, earn an audience, and being just as famous. And it's certainly possible to learn this. Just not from celebrities like Dwayne Johnson.

He must play a character who losses or gets completely defeated as playing the villain

Agreed - we need more depth and variety in his portrayals...

The Rock is like Stallone or Schwarzenegger but without the iconic characters or classics to his name like Rambo or Terminator. Instead, his filmography is littered with bland, safe, PG-13 garbage like Fast & Furious and Jumanji. I'm glad audiences are finally getting sick of this guy.

I like the actor the rock, but stopped watching his movies because of his no lose clause, just looking at the movie poster you know he will have plot Armour and win regardless, so you kinda know the ending lol

Was a big fan of his in the 90’s attitude era of wrestling and liked him the Run Down and GI Joe Retaliation-but hall the other movies he’s in just didn’t interest me. They almost seem cookie cutter roles these days. I wanted to like Black Adam but I sort of tuned out half way through.

He hasn't step up in his acting career ability and he's the same old boring stuff in his movies. As better as character that gets a part in a movie than for him to be a Star of his own movies in which he doesn't do to well by himself as a actor. As he needs to step up his game.

You need longer pauses between sentences and please try to speak more clearly and slower. I am not a native English speaker and hardly understand anything. I don't have problems with most other English channels.

The Rock Dwayne Johnson is the new Steven Seagal. A narcissist that always play himself in every movie he's in, and cannot loose any fight.

Just my opinion, is it bad that I don’t feel comfortable being in the same room with him or whatever he says to come out his mouth I just feel like everything. The last couple years that he’s done feels like a corrupt scam. You know what I mean, just more money in his pocket my opinion.

Lol As his new movie approaches $500 million worldwide lol. Stop it, everyone of your favorite actors had their fair share of flops. If hes the "biggest joke" it's sad hes so much more successful than majority of other actors in Hollywood lol.

Who cares? Red one wouldnt have made a dime if you put any other actor in it. Black adam was ok, but was ruijed by the constant shifting of direftions with the dceu, the fast franchise has made considerably less since he's left, and lets be honest, his flops are usually something that we should be praising. The red one was mid but at least it eas an original ip. The rock is one of the last guys in hollywood that can make an original ip into a hit. Its kind of getting annoying the way KZbinrs try to make outrage out of anything. The rock is nearly a billionaire, i dont see why he has to dance like a monkey for these fans. He wants to be the stallone type action star, let him. He doesnt have to be in some crazy where hes balling his eyes out on screen. That would be cool, but the reason ppl likr the rock is because his characters are relatable, funny, and down to earth. John cena wants to play the funny, dumb muscle head, bautista yells..very pointless vid
