It might not really be that bad if you ask me. He gets to be a star with unlimitted minutes instead of rotting at the bench AND gets paid the same! He already proved everything at the highest level of comeptition. He can now just enjoy the game and perks of a star player. Most of all, he gets RESPECT.

Hate to be the contrarian here, but Dwight isn't a good fit for the Celtics' playbook. Sure, he can help with rebounding and he'll be a nice body to throw at Giannis and Embiid come playoffs. But, the C's play 5-out. When they run their staggered screen sets, the 5 sits on the corner. That's Horford, Blake, or Kornet; all are decent (even elite) at making corner 3's.

Another reason for Dwight’s attitude and reputation being tarnished over time was comparison to Shaq and Shaq himself constantly feuding with Dwight and calling him out. With the game evolving he probably felt without those touches he wouldn’t be seen as player that’s as good as Shaq (which he isn’t but you get the point) that really messed his career up as well.

The whole "bad mindset" and "shit mentality" belief 99% of the league has always had is truly why he's out and there's so much hatred toward him, which is entirely undeserved. There's this perception that you have to be angry, constantly working out, and always so intense in your serious attitude that there is ZERO space to have fun, be funny, joke around, do pranks, and just be yourself, as goofy and "childish" as many will demand that to be. But I know that's wrong. They got that shit backwards. There's a balance, and that means you need equal parts goofy attitude, having fun and being yourself and focused, determined, all heart level of training, ethic & play. You can be extremely free spirited and goofy like a child, but still be very serious and driven, taking no shit. People demand that's untrue, but it is factually correct. Humans always thinking and acting in extremes.

It always seemed like he did this basketball thing because he was good at it and it basically gave him unlimited funds. In parts of asia they use the whole animal when cooking. In japan, they use every single part of the chicken in yakitori. Eating skewers on the street is no different from buying from a food truck or street cart vendor in the US. Some people can't get out of their own way and Dwight Howard is one of those people. In Orlando he was the man and the Magic babied him giving him everything he wanted but sometimes you have to pay attention close enough to see the difference between a playful childish personality and a spoiled brat with a very childish personality but for Orlando it was to late by the time they noticed what they were dealing with. That's when they realized everything they did only made it worse.

Perhaps being called a superstar from the get-go really hurts their mental development and that's how they become a spoiled brat and never recovered since then. NBA has turned into a place where all these superstars, thinking like a kid, are calling the shots and there's no punishment to their behavior at all. They just keep getting away with it, time after time. Funny how things has changed so drastically since the 90's basketball, where people are actually competing for the win, not throwing tantrum around like a 7-year-old children wanting to get his hand on his favorite toy.

Both Andre Drummond and Dwight Howard were coached by Stan Van Gundy, who never let either of them shoot jumpers, pass, or handle the ball. This LED TO CLAIMS OF their game being OBSOLETE. YET STILL, as Denver made their way to winning a TITLE, it was the "OBSOLETE" skill of REBOUNDING that made the DIFFERENCE, NOT PLAYMAKING (JOKIC 20+ REBOUNDS with just 4 ASSISTS.

Asking for more minutes and more of a role isn’t really asking for too much given how well he played for the Lakers in their championship season and Philly the season after that. It’s fair to say that even though the Lakers won that season and he played a great role he was still under-utilised, only people who genuinely watched a large percentage of their games and understand his playing capacity will understand that. That’s not to say he was deserving of being a main player in front of AD or Lebron, but he was deserving of more than what he got for sure. If you’re someone who just checks the stats, watches highlights and listens to the media talk your opinion is most likely inaccurate. Much like if these are your sources of information and then you go and make a KZbin video about it, you’re contributing to false information. Asking for more doesn’t mean he’s asking for all the offence to be run through him, it just means he wants a bigger role than what he was getting. That being said whether you believe that to be a fair statement or not it does not discredit the humbling process he went through and character development that came because of it. Just because he humbled himself doesn’t mean he should eat shit and continue to accept less than what he is worth. Fingers crossed he has a kickass season in Taiwan and a contending NBA team resigns him later in the season either as a backup to a tier 1 centre or a starter to a team with a weak ‘big’ presence. Late 30s today is not what late 30s was a decade or two ago. With more knowledge on nutrition, recovery, load management and even slowing the ageing process it’s clear to see there are some vets either in the league today or recently out that are in elite shape and still worthy of competing.

Also another very important thing about Dwight Howard is that he never really developed any go-to move offensively. @@douglasmurdoch7247 It's not really an untrainable obstacle though. I'm not even talking about more modern players like Zion. Also a low post go-to move is only partly an arm thing, it's mostly a footwork thing and Dwight never developed that either. This dude walked into Nashville for WWE Summerslam thinking he was going to get a a contract. Company told him if you put the work in we are open to it. Now he is playing basketball overseas. Interesting guy.

Some of those All-Star bids was due to fans mesmerized by his dunks. He benefited as the the NBA was transitioned to position less players. There were no dominant centers during his era. He is a Hall of Famer but 75, nope.

In my eyes Dwight Howard is in my top 10 if not top 5 of the best defensive player EVER. IN ORLANDO he was defensive player of year a straight beast. I couldn't wait to watch Cleveland and Orlando. Young LeBron and young dwight it was epic.

I would still pick dwight over ty jerome or anthony lamb for the warriors.. thats at least 12 mins a game of solid screening, rebounding, and rim protection.

Momma said to never say anything bad about anyone, so commenting about multiple personal interactions with Dwight Howard, I’m simply going to say no comment on his off court interactions with former fans. He created this.

Coming off the bench helped win him a ring. Would've honestly wanted him over Robin Lopez in Cleveland. The man still has worth and deserved a spot on the 75, he just gotta understand he isn't the main option anymore.

Because none of those dudes provide value to any roster that isn’t a dumpster fire. Unless you count the Udonis Haslem’s and Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s as valuable Melo? Zero defense and streaky shooter. Can only be a bench player. Dwight? Exactly as the video mentioned. Kemba? Injury prone with zero defense. IT? Small injury prone who’s only contributing factor is offense which isn’t that good.

Because he had all the talent in the world and chose to be a locker room cancer and never improve. Just imagine if he had a jumper. Fact is, there's two careers of Dwight Howard. The first half where he developed and peaked and the second half where he slowly declined. The second half outweighs the first half.

That's not fair. His stats speak for him. I love Dwight. His personal life is just that. What I don't understand they did do it to D Wade and bron. There are others that have the same lifestyle but nothing was done. Dennis Rodman did his own thing .
