@@christophermorgan9199 Yes, but among all this hypothetical-ness, choosing between a) keeping LeBron and keeping their championship window open from 2010 to say, 2015 or b) losing him, getting Kyrie, getting LeBron BACK and having a championship window from 2014 to 2018... the right thing to do is highly debatable.

That was sorta me... But at first I thought, "well, he did what made him happy so I guess he's smart enough to know he's gonna lose some respect, and he accepts that." I was genuinely like, this sucks, but so be it. Then he came out on that stage with the "not one, not two, not three" and I just kinda felt sick to my stomach when I realized oh... he stills expects to be praised on the same level for doing this. Only then did I completely shut down on LeBron. It felt like he's trying to trick me (i.e. all fans) to deliver him gratification by taking shortcuts. I honestly think that he thinks we're all idiots.

Also I admit he did get a bit mad with power and it cost him a few times. The China situation too because he should of stood on what he said even if financially you will take a hit because it def perceived him as fake. Imo he should focus on being the best version of LeBron James instead of chasing another man. Once Kobe got outta that mindset he started to make his own identity

As much as I like atlethes that stand for their beliefs it's a pitty that people then hold everyone accountable for it, MJ didn't make a stand cause he's influence was too high and every sleezy politician would try and use him for votes, so instead of messing around with something he didn't understand he focused on what he did wich is to play, thanks to that today NBA stars have even more influence cause there are more eyes on them than ever before.

@@bearwithme9433 No way man, Cr7 is very much like Lebron in terms of flopping and complaining to the refs, which garnered him a lot of haters in the early days. But prior to 2021 Ronaldo is still fine, it was in the last few months of 2021 that he started doing questionable things that lead to this hate. He commented "factos" on an instagram posts that says he should've won Balon d'or and undermines Messi's, comments ''two jealous'' on another posts that features Rooney, he also threw the captain armband on two separate occasions with Portugal. He kicked Curtis Jones in the stomach out of frustration, and oh did i mention how he left to the tunnel, not celebrating with his team even though they were winning (because he was benched lol). So yeah, add all of those on top of a toxic fanbase and thats why people really don't like Cr7, his ego is too big and hes cocky at times, even going on an interview to trash talk his own team. This is exactly what I'm saying,an now everyone thinks lebron is the goat which is stupid. I just don't understand, he literally achieved less but they mention his longevity which makes it more worse. Bron only got 4 champs in 22 years!? Ouch. And I hate when his fans mention Scottie as if he carried MJ but their stats says it's the other way around. And MJ only couldn't win a champ in the 80s because he was in a drug addict team which had most of the valuable teammates and people leave, and MJ broke his foot missing 2 seasons. Lebron couldn't win a champ in his rookies years until wade but we don't talk about that. at least both lead their team to the finals. Even MJ rookie stats is better than Bron career stats. Idk if I'm the only logical kid in this generation but as far as I know, Lebron is definitely not the goat. And his fans or the kids these days need to realize that.

To be fair Lebron does have a lot of fans, I personally think it’s the constant media coverage, the unprecedented move to Miami, given we never saw 3 prime players in the 26-28 age range on one time that were all top 15 players at that respective time, it seemed like he stacked the deck really in his favor. Seeing him lose kinda humbled him but in a lot of people’s eyes took him out of the Kobe, Jordan, aura of greatness considered he really shit the bed when he was the overwhelming favorite. Lastly the 3-1 comeback is legendary in and of itself, despite this, it’s truly Lebron’s crowning achievement but when looking objectively how does winning 3 rings make you the goat in 2016? Comments like that anger the older and some younger fan bases like myself that actually have respect for the history of the game etc. We can all say Bron can have that confidence and we all Know Jordan believes he’s the best deep down, the difference is how Bron comes off like it’s so matter of fact, that he’s the best etc etc. Jordan has never come out even doing anything remotely close. But Jordan is hyper aware of the legend he created for himself.

LeChina called himself the GOAT- confirming he isn't. LeBron is great at basketball, yes, But off the court, he played the game like a low quality hypergamous hoe of a woman from the streets by jumping from lap to lap; depending on who had more assets. I don't respect that. Despite doing that and basically being the NBA's first ever THOT, he got destroyed by the West to the tune of 6 Finals losses. No 3-peat, no 6 rings, but full of excuses, hypotheticals, what-ifs and participation medal statpadding due to longevity. MJ played the game on and off the court like a Warrior. A man. LeBron played like a SUGARBABY. LeBron has literally won NOTHING without being carried by two other PRIME Top 10 All-Stars....teammates who have to sacrifice for him and take the blame for them losing. Total low quality woman behavior right there. LeBron's true legacy is turning NBA Superstars into p( ! )ssy bitches and sugarbabies- KD, Harden, Simmons, even Dwight. Leaving your team, your squad, your soldiers, your men, your city, for deeper pockets is the most low quality woman thing a man could do. How can you respect that? When you see Dirk's statue, you UNDERSTAND. It's perfect. It's a tribute to a true Warrior and Champion. Which city will LeBron get a statue at? He's betrayed all of them. Not to mention, LeBron's rings are cheap and all 4 are less valuable than Dirk's 1...or Giannis' 1. I respect LeBron's basketball skill. I DO NOT respect how he's a low quality woman SugarBaby Hoe and coward and hyprocrite about his "activism" .....why does he never flap his woman mouth against China?

@@TheSantaClaus1983 they just scored a lot on bad teams. These were role players at best, you’d know if you watched the game back then instead of digging up stats and thinking you’re right. Mo actually hd a decent reg season wit the cavs and got his sole all-star selection as a backup selection after other allstars got hurt. But once the playoffs began he was terrible. You see that video of him thanking god after lebron hit the game winner? His production completely disappeared in the playoffs. Larry hughes known as a low percentage chucker on the offensive end. You’d know this if you weren’t just relying on digging up stats. Antawn Jamison wasn’t quite as bad as mo, but he was another one of those guys who was at the very tail end of their prime by the time he got to the cavs. He was 33 years old. Back then, players retire even earlier than they do now, by 34 most decent players are out of the league. He was still decent but he was an undersized pf that relied on midrange shooting, these were called “tweeners” back then and weren’t effective. Theres a reason the Cavs liked JJ Hickson more, he was more effective roll guy, defender and rebounder. You can try to list these role-players, or past their prime players, but the fact remains that the Cavs got two 60+ win seasons back-to-back, then immediately fell to league worst after Lebron left. That’ll tell you enough.

You're on point - he tries too hard. When you feel the need of reminding everyone about your greatness all the time, it usually means you're not so great after all. Look at Jordan, he doesn't have to say a word. Being the GOAT is not only about stats and awards, but also the legend you create. To me, LBJ had just too many misses along the way - collapse in the Finals vs Dallas, assemblnig a super team in the offseason insted of staying in Cleveland, stepping out of his role and acting as de facto GM (and refusing to take accountability for it) and being a poser when it comes to his alleged values. Now he's even trying to get his kid to the NBA by saying that he will go to the team that drafts Bronny. Jordan was awesome, beacause he didn't compare himself to anyone, he was just focused on being the best player he could be and winning,. Can you imagine Jordan or Bird pretending to be an avid reader to look smart or going to a game with a freakin' wine cooler? Pathetic. LeBron is a great player, easily TOP 3 all time, but sorry - not a GOAT.

Duncan was gonna leave the spurs, kobe was gonna leave the lakers, Jordan said if pippin got traded he was gonna leave, these "die hard loyal" players were willing to leave if they didn't get what they wanted. Lebron wanted help, got no help so he left. Miami was not a super team, besides lebron, 3 years of dwade and a 3rd star Chris bosh the rest of the team was bad to mid at best. After bro got 0 help in Cleveland he took matters into his own hands, for better or for worse and won 4 rings.

The GOAT discussion for the majority of people, especially outside the US, ended when Dirk's Mavs beat LeBron's star-studded team. No matter what LeBron does will not put him over MJ. MJ is the prime example of what excellence is. Anyone who wants to be a great basketball player should do it the MJ way. Work harder than anyone both in the gym and on the court. Do not short-change your fans and your team, and give 100% on the floor on both offense and defense. Be an example to your teammates to move them to be the best version of themselves... Kobe learned that from MJ, and we can see Kobe being that to the Redeem Team in the docu that barely featured by media... Kobe changed how the team was, by being an example. MJ was hard on his teammates, but he was harder on himself, and that was his drive to win. You can not speak like this of LeBron... you can't cite him as an example since often he slouched on defense and many times he just gave up on the team and on the game. Btw, if a 3peat is easy... LeBron even when backed by future HoFs... has never ever did it. And MJ did it twice. The GOAT must be bigger than the sport like Ali to boxing... and no matter what LeBron does ... he won't be bigger than the sport. For basketball... there's only one name that's fits the bill... and that's MJ.

LeBron is hated because this generation is all a bunch of followers who do whatever the next guy is doing. Correction, how *durable you have to be to amass raw counting stats. PARTICIPATION MEDAL.

Sometimes I wonder how different the perspective of LeBron would be if he had been drafted to a team with decent management. Magic, Bird, Kobe, Kareem were all drafted into favorable situations. Yes, Jordan was drafted into an absolute shitshow but at least he had a competent front office to build around him. Meanwhile LeBron has owners saying no to prime Amare Stoudemire because they wanted to hold on to JJ freaking Hickson. All while Lebron's sheer talent kept his teams in pseudo-contention while at the same never allowing them to build through the draft.

While getting dploy... while getting other accolades in those years! *Still 3rd in steals and 5th in points, with minimal 3's... after 20 years! *Only NBA player with Olympic gold medal, NCAA championship, and a NBA ring! *Never lost 3 straight games as a bull after 0-3 start in 1991! *Only averaged 4 hours of sleep a night... *Only missed 12 games in 11 seasons *played every game from 1996-1998 *Never missed a playoff game *PLAYED 82 GAMES WHEN HE WAS 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Only scored single digits once! *lowest ppg. 28.2 *highest ppg. 37.1 *oldest player in NBA history to score 50 points (51) *10 triple doubles in 11 games in 1989, 7 in a row! As a Chinese fan on the other side of the sea, I would like to answer that LeBron is more and more criticized by the Internet public opinion. Because he is insatiable and sacrifices the team's interests for the sake of recording data. Digging deep into his career, countless details are enough to show the damage he has caused to the team: huge luxury taxes, players leaving the team, players carrying the blame, LeBron's lack of active defense but leading the fast attack, and so on. Moreover, from outside the field, LeBron did not showcase his personality as a superstar to the fans, Intelligent injury rotation, countless times deviating from one's promises. After kneeling on the Celtics field and the free throws skyrocketed, all teams suffered and still failed to win the championship. And his boasting and obsession with data have long been undisguised. All sorts of things have shown that he cannot replace MJ as a goat.

A.) LeBron isnt close to as good or as dominant as MJ B.) LeBron has ALWAYS been a bit of a choker.C.) LeBron has media people/specialist who spend all day threatening anyone in the media who criticizes him so as a result people make INSANE excuses for his multiple OBVIOUS faults, In short no one likes being gaslit and told someone is the greatest repeatedly when ALL THE STATS NUMBERS ACCOMPLISHMENTS and our eyes tell us differently and lastly LeBron does EVERYTHING to stack the deck in his favor and either him OR his media people, spend all day giving LeBron credit for.his teammates greatness while also giving his teammates ALL the blame for LEBRON'S mistakes which is pretty sad and pathetic that they assume people are easily manipulative and even worse is that apparently they were right... basically LeBron has spent more time getting people to CALL HIM the greatest than actually being the greatest and as a result Lebron wasn't even a top five player and really outside of maybe two seasons wasn't even the best player in basketball in his time...Steph has more rings and has made more of an impact because unlike Lebron's Steph has been all about letting his play speak for him and his team and letting his performance shine instead of stat chasing which Steph could do if he wanted and could stay healthy and has put up prime James Harden numbers in stretches BUT in the service of winning and not just to.make a case to pretend like hes the greatest ever, which LeBron has been doin since 18... he's a great player who you could easily argue is in the top ten of all time but the toxicity perpetuated by his media people and embraced by his insane fans has been bad for basketball and the game generally with other people now following suit by flopping, stat chasing, and trying to group up to steal a ring...Id say LeBron:s legacy for the game is generally a bad one, outside of some of his performances, that to be fair haven't been as iconic or as plentiful namely as Nike would try and convince us unfortunately, but positive for the players and for any athletes trying to become moguls and making the most money possible

LeBron is one of those players who is an NBA creation top to bottom. He once was a talented young player who probably would have benefitted from going to college. That's why he never learned the fundamentals of the game. He was pushed and marketed into being the GOAT much too prematurely. Now, at age 38, with no jumper, he's been turned into the Hulk Hogan of the NBA, by making game changes that were beneficial to him. He never liked physical play and has never REALLY had to carry the burden of responsibility, he tried to do it with the Cavs and failed miserably. So the NBA and ESPN in particular put out the narrative that he had played with a bunch of bums. Even the later contributions of players like Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were always diminished, just to make LeBron look better. Now he's in L.A and has a losing record, people again are blaming everyone else but the so-called GOAT. But isn't LeBron supposed to make everyone around him better? The guy actually is the most protected player EVER! Even MJ was criticised and faced actual pressure, while LeBron plays with ZERO pressure, thanks to the media who are always quick to make excuses for him failing. THIS is the real reason why he's disliked.

The only team that could be considered a super team was the Miami Heat. The second time cavs were more of a duo with a low caliber all star. Then the Lakers were just Lebron and AD. The after championship Lakers were basically a failed super team.
