One thing that is also worth pointing out is that a huge portion of the money generated from Fornite enabled Unreal Engine 5 (released this year) to exceed the capability of other engines (Unity etc). Also, they are releasing assets (textures, models, tutorials) for free at an incredible rate. This will result in more people making their games within the Unreal Ecosystem.

100% the Fortnite / Epic Games store / Unreal Engine loop really can’t be discounted. Just yesterday I bought a Ghost Recon game and download UE5 (which I’ve been meaning to test out) in one session just because they were both so easily accessible in the Epic games store.

Since Fortnite helped Tim move and expand his vision so far.. How about he force the teams involved to give a little more love to the Save The World division, the backbone of what got Fortnite it's start and then made Epic a household name. I was initially irritated that Epic was trying to become "just another content distributor" when we already had Steam, and so many other companies wanted their own distribution platforms for their games lines (Like Origin, and such), but after watching this video I'm a little more on board with Epic as a "movement" seeing as Tim's vision is purer than I initially thought Epic's was. But... Also... give more love to StW

Personal story against Epic: I remember when I got scammed by the first version of Fortnite: it was "Save the World" and lot of players paid full price to start to play the beta. They promised lot of stuff that have never been added, like the main story has never been finished (or at least they finally finish it with no sense after 3 years of waiting just because people weer mad for that). At the end they got lot of money with false promises to invest into another version of the game (Battle Royale) just to get even more. The lesson I've learned: this is the worst company I've ever seen in 25 yrs of gameplay because they are false and don't care about the community at all!! After all the millions they have earned from Battle Royale, thanks to Save the World, they could at least finish the game they have started where lot of players invested money and time on it. Unbelievable and it will be difficult now to trust them honestly. Ps the UE5 is amazing btw and I love it, but can't say the same on the CEO
@Evandyral2 жыл бұрын
There is actually a reason why they stopped developing save the world, a few of the main people that made it passed tragically and they just don't feel like tis right to branch off from the vision of those people, they actually got added as in game survivors too.
@kevinbasel84012 жыл бұрын
@@Evandyral In world business, especially at those levels, you hire somebody else and you keep going. It happens to every major production and they don’t kill the game because lot of money are involved, so it’s just an excuse. At least they could give some money back, and not legendary survivors when after 3 years you already have full team with mithic/leggendary. Big big scam
@cultofsquidward41002 жыл бұрын
they didn't promise anything that wasn't given out, i know because a also paid full price and received all that was stated, sure after a while, but was later compensated with 8000 vbucks and the metal team leader pack for free on top (which they never had to do) not to mention the amount of vbucks iv'e earned over the years making it easily worth the investment, so i honestly to god cant see how in any way that its a scam, what really killed the game was the lack of traction as opposed to its highly popular br counterpart, which led to a reasonable decrease in production towards the game as it is a waste of time and energy towards a unappreciated product. (This is just my opinion)

@@cultofsquidward4100 zoom zoom zooooom
@kevinbasel84012 жыл бұрын
@@cultofsquidward4100 I think we played two different games, and I explain you why: 1) When I bought the game I paid 200 euro, there was also a digital copy that I knew I could give to a friend or brother one day. Well after a certain period and after they got all the money, they decided to switch that with some vbucks you could spend in game (don’t know why you all love vbucks when in STW they only purpose to use them it was for survivors and for me and other people it was completely useless since at that point our team were already maximize). If I knew they were going to do that, obviously I’ve never spent 200 euro to start to play a game. My “investment”, like other people too, was for the extra digital copy and not the vbucks. 2) Since the game was in early access they promised to finished the story in a certain period that at the end has been delayed because BR started to be their main goal. Not fair. Just imagine you go to a restaurant, you order a pizza, the owner ask you to pay before you eat it and tell you that will arrive in 10 minutes, then you wait for more than 1 month, you ask where’s your pizza, the owner will answer that they had to work to open a new restaurant with the money they got from all the customers, and then they give you a potato because of the delay. This is how exactly we felt. My list can continue, who played the game knows, but I don’t want to make a longer comment than already is. If you think all of this is normal, I just immagine you are new to the gaming business, but for lot of people this just sounded a huge scam, especially the fact that they kept the game in “early access” for lot of years as an excuse to not to finish the game. If you are happy to pay for a game now and play when you get old, I think that’s why is so perfect for you. But please don’t support this kind of games or that’s what we all get in the future (look all p2w games and empty games that AAA production are recently creating… pure s***). Just think about it please.
