Where do they bring their partners in this environment? I feel like that's an actual problem that some may have. If so, can Blitz Esports make a really short interview with some of the house owners or players, or just casually drop in a question in a regular interview.

Like girlfriends? Very few teams allow girlfriends, and the few people that have one, I think lots of times their girlfriend comes to scrims and stuff.
@rastkosehovic3294
@rastkosehovic3294 7 жыл бұрын
i'd say that there's more to relationship than just watching the scrims. Also how is it healthy to forbid girlfriends or boyfriends to mainly teenagers and young people. Shouldn't that be encouraged and shouldn't a main goal of every team house be a healthy development of their players and staff (you know, besides pro success and stuff like that?)

GEM4sta I am truly sorry that you feel that life can truly be fulfilling just by work, cause it really can't. Also no need for being aggressive and sarcastic, some players might actually like their d**k sucked, and my question (and opinion) was only addressing the issue of some players who actually want that but can't get it because of teamhouses. Also there are many many many many pro athletes and business people who work incredibly hard and a lot, and still have time for family. And usually point out how important that is, for that matter. I'd love to hear one actual argument how that doesn't benefit you (or as a matter of fact, an argument hoe does it hurt you career, especially at such young age). No need for aggressiveness I'm having a mature debate, so please don't be condescending and irrational.

I've been in a gamehouse and it's an amazing experience. I was always around my teammates who I had fun with and we took the game as an actual game, not work. I've never seen anyone nervous for the game anythime and that's thanks the psycological support given to us by selected staff members. The downside is that if you are in the house with someone that you don't like much you just have to deal with it. Overall it's a nice experience

Great video. Concerning the "live where you work" point, Schalke is trying a different aproach iirc: They have a gaming house for exercises, living and everything - but for scrims (not sure about SoloQ) they get on a bus and drive to a special... let's call it "gaming office" so maybe that's the right way? Especially since Schalke actually should know about this problem since they also run different other sports teams.
@GEM4sta
@GEM4sta 7 жыл бұрын
I don't see how that would make them know about this problem. I have never heard of a traditional sports team that lives on the field, or even in the same house.
@LucRio448

Well I know for example a few soccer teams with own soccer-academies. There they usually have younger players (like 13-14 or something like that, but often even until they get the austrian/german version of their A-levels) and those player live there, they go to school and the have their soccer practice - everything inside the same building in wintertime and when it's warm enough, they practice on the soccerfields right next to the same building. So they attend classes, practice soccer and also sleep and eat in the same building, that's like as much "live where you work" as there could ever be, right?^^ And also, if you think about it - maybe tit's not like they don't know about this because they don't live and work in the same are, maybe they do not live and work in the same area because they already know the problem.

IIRC Fnatic also tried to seperate the office from the Gaming house where everyone lives. Does solve the problem of 'one place to live and one to work' but still everyone lives together.

I think it is fairly straightforward in LoL. 1) You play SoloQ until you reach challenger. 2) The matchmaking puts you in game with current pro's. 3) You destroy them / carry them or prove yourself some other way. 4) If you left an impression then the next time this team will be looking for a new player your name will come up. 5) ????? 6) Profit. Ofc, you can also join a no-name team and fight your way up to and through challenger series as a 5 man unit. www.lolesports.com/en_US/articles/2016-challenger-series-qualifiers

i agree with the idea of separating work space and play space.i played college football and there was just that mental preparation in the locker room, as youre strapping on your gear your are mentally preparing yourself to be focused. and plus practicing how you play. ive heard a lot of na teams just mess around in scrims. i cannot imagine going to a football practice and just messing around. id get cut from the team. i think esports teams have a long way to go, but theres a reason other sports do things a certain way, and since these guys most likely didnt play sports they dont know how to work together or learn all the lessons that a sport would teach. if i was a ceo of an esports club id definitely go get experts from other sport and copy how they practice and organize their team.

I actually think the reason why teams were making progress game wise since the moved in gaming houses is because at the same time the support staff of the teams were growing aswell. And the reason why SKT is on a higher level then Western teams is because the fully treat e-sports as a real sport. They've made the whole environment just like (american)football teams have. But that is just a theory I thought about so I could be way wrong

I havnt read/heard the remarks about the Immortals complex, but imo, total delineation should be the future of esports teams. As you suggested, give the players an option to live in some building with their own private wing/dorms, and do an echofox and have a very distinct practice area, with no crossover of the two.
@ZacMcCool

I think Noah Winston's plan could work really well. I also like what teams like EnvyUs' Overwatch team does. They all live in seperate apartments in the same building and their office is acrossed the street. This allows most of the benefits of a team house but at the end of the day the players still get to go to their own space to relax.

Is there any links or sites that show the demographics of the cost ranges of how much a gaming house costs to open/run and operate yearly? Including team members, staff members, bills, traveling etc. Very curious to see how much it costs to own an esports team and what the potential pay off for it all is.
