🚦By the way many times a rocket can only be launched from certain latitudes for orbit insertion (to keep things cheap). So many times a launch organisation is chosen based on the latitude + the orbit type. So there will be times when we launch sometime from somewhere else and someone else will launch from here.

Why you are always trying show contrast between ISRO and Space X ? There is no need of comparison between ISRO and Space X. They works by their way and we do our ways, don't try to show that Space X is nothing than us. Why you had not make video on why NASA don't use its SLV but they use Space X's Falcon 9 ? And why ISRO too used Space X rocket instead of its own? We must try to improve more rather then trying to show someone lower.

@abhilashray380Ай бұрын

ISRO vs. SpaceX: "My Critical Perspective" 1. Technological Gap ISRO appears to be operating with technology from the 1960s and 70s, while SpaceX leverages advancements from the 2000s. This raises questions about ISRO's progress over the years. SpaceX’s Falcon 9, capable of carrying up to 22 tons into space, is human-rated and reusable. Meanwhile, ISRO lacks reusable rockets and has yet to develop a human-rated launch system. The PSLV engine was developed using technology transferred from France over 50 years ago. Solid boosters still dominate ISRO’s designs, which reflects limited innovation in propulsion systems. 2. Reusability and Market Leadership SpaceX has achieved significant breakthroughs in reusability, reducing costs and advancing rocket technology. ISRO, in contrast, has not introduced reusable rockets to its portfolio. If SpaceX’s Starship becomes operational, it will further solidify SpaceX’s dominance in the space market. Falcon 9 is already the industry leader, making it difficult for ISRO to compete. 3. ISRO’s Achievements and Limitations ISRO is primarily focused on launching small satellites and has not yet achieved significant milestones in human spaceflight or heavy-lift rocket development. There’s a perception that ISRO’s work reflects a "small dream" mentality, focusing on modest goals rather than groundbreaking innovation. Issues such as the lack of advanced onboard cameras in ISRO’s rockets point to areas where improvements are needed, even in fundamental aspects of their missions. and I swear, when I heard ISRO's CEO's response about the camera quality of rocket on a KZbinr's podcast, my mind was completely blown hearing that 4. Perception of Innovation and Work Culture The perception is that ISRO scientists work primarily for job security, without a strong emphasis on pushing technological boundaries or fostering innovation. In contrast to SpaceX, ISRO’s designs and developments often lack the “wow” factor, contributing to a sense of disappointment among some observers. 5. Public Relations(PR) and National Pride ISRO’s public relations efforts are often criticized for being ineffective. A stronger, more engaging PR strategy could improve public perception and global recognition. Patriotism sometimes prevents Indians from critically evaluating ISRO’s shortcomings. This lack of accountability might hinder the organization’s growth. 6. Broader Reflections on Indian Innovation There’s a belief that India’s space program reflects a broader hesitation to innovate, with a tendency to rely on repurposed or transferred technology rather than developing groundbreaking solutions. While comparisons with countries like Pakistan may offer some satisfaction, they reflect limited ambition when juxtaposed with global leaders like SpaceX, Rocket Lab, or Blue Origin. at the end I believe that if ISRO needs to change anything first, it is the CEO of ISRO. Because as long as people who are only interested in having a job hold the CEO position, with their goal being just to have a job, no real change can happen. ISRO needs an ambitious person like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, or Sir Peter Beck-someone who won't just run ISRO as a job, but will guide it towards bringing change and provide direction to the coming generations of this country. How long will ISRO remain just a medium to launch satellites? When will there be an invention that will make the new generation of the country dream of working at ISRO and contributing to the space field? Whenever ISRO goes to an IIT, no one even shows up to listen, because they are neither offering good salaries nor providing ambitious people with the space to fulfill their ambitions. The private companies, even though they don’t offer extraordinary packages, still have people working with them because those people are ambitious-they want to make a name and create inventions. When SpaceX recently caught a booster with chopsticks, it became a huge sensation, and people even came from Europe to see the next rocket launch, while the entire America and Canada showed up. You can imagine how happy those ambitious people must have been when the whole world appreciated their work. The entire nation of America went back to the moment when America first landed on the moon. God knows when India will stop relying on technology from others and start focusing on doing something on its own. How long will we continue to rely on outdated technologies from the past? I do not want the coming youth of this country to go abroad after getting education here and work towards making other countries more great. And if I have to criticize the institutions of this country for that, it will be my privilege
@buntysinghal1487Ай бұрын
Ah yes completely agreed they have ambitious project but neither money nor technology to achieve that our budget is so low when I look back at Artemis 1 launch it is equal to the entire space industry budget I don't know and I don't think they will be able to establish space station by 2035 and land on moon by 2040. These are too ambitious project our gaganyaan mission started in 2008 but still not finished while a private space company started by elon musk in 2000 have achieved it. China is investing too in space and research and they have the technology too they will land on moon and even by 2050 if we land on moon it would be a great deal because maintaining a space station and landing on moon is very expensive and the way our space budget is increasing like 1% or 2% a year it would take long before we could make up for technology gap for these difficult mission
@SuvedhanapandiАй бұрын
Comparing a private player who has a lot of funds to a state owned organisation with limited funds is not the right way to look at it. ISRO can't afford failures. So they always go for stability over experimentation. The role ISRO ultimately is to provide for the nation and its development through space research. So ISRO isn't limited to the propulsion system. It has to secure funds on its own and that's where these satellite launchers come in. They are cheaper, affordable and reliable. Apart from this ISRO is also doing space exploration, managing communication satellites through satellite navigation systems, remote sensing etc.., So it is not appropriate to compare ISRO with SpaceX. This is why there are new space related startups in india. And ultimately they will solve this issue. They as a private party will come out of the comfort zone. Also ISRO funding is very small when compared with giants like NASA, CNSA, ESA, ROSCOSMOS, JAXA, and even some European space agencies like CNES, ASI, DLR have higher funds than ISRO. But the achievements of ISRO are comparable or sometimes exceed some of these agencies. And India as a country is still at a developing stage. We are 20 years behind in semiconductor technology and infrastructure,10 years behind in fighter jet technology when compared to china. We don't have space stations like the USA, Russia or China and finally our economy is not as strong as the USA, Russia or China. So the ultimate verdict is that India isn't yet ready for a space race. I know brain drain is a major concern but the situation is improving. The living standards in india is improving a lot. And it's not easy to catch up with super powers like Russia or USA in a single decade. And we are not an autocracy like china either. So in a big democracy like India with a lot of diversity, it's not possible to achieve fast paced growth, results or achievements. It happens in its own pace. But our progress never halted. And we don't really use outdated technologies. It's just the past 2 decades have seen a massive growth in technology and tele communication. But I can guarantee that India will reach there eventually. We are relying on technology from others because we can't afford to put the same amount of money or time that was invested by those countries. And Technology transfer doesn't mean outdated technology. Also no country will sell its state of the art technology to any other country. Unless we reverse engineer it(which will result in severe scrutiny and sanctions from other countries) ourselves like china, technology transfer is the only other option and it's not cheap or affordable either. Technology transfer is way more costly than reverse engineering. It will be generally 3-4times the cost of the actual price. In the era of globalisation technology transfer and brain drain is inevitable. Our country just have to keep improving until it reaches them.
