I confess I didn't understand the appeal of Evercade when it came out. Why were people paying for an emulation handheld that could only run a highly curated, by means of what could be licensed, list of games when for the same money a retro handheld could be bought that would run all the same titles and many more. This came to an end when discussing this in the pub with a friend and they pointed out "they aren't selling this to people who want to play games, they are selling to people who want to collect games". That's when it clicked for me, Blaze have successfully tapped into the collector mentality that so many people have.

@voteDCАй бұрын
@@skald9 This is still emulation and the carts just hold the roms. So what I said is true, Blaze has tapped into the collector mindset because otherwise people would be buying a far more capable retro emulation handheld and loading it up from the high seas. Blaze (Evercade's parent company) has already had dealings with Sega when they did their Mega Drive plug and play devices years ago. They had licensing deals for the Sonic games, Baku Baku Animal, Alien Storm, Columns, Vector Man, Mean Bean Machine and many others. It could put Evercade in a different league if was to happen but probably wont. Licensing deals are getting more prohibitive these days.
