@josephbuckler3919 you cap out at 38 after 13 years of service and we’re currently in arbitration renegotiating a shorter length to meet cap and a significant raise. That’s the good thing about our union and the contract system, we renegotiate every 4 years so we’re constantly fighting for more money.

Thank you for giving us an in-depth look at what a step-van looks and feels like. I think all drivers who are are the fence about switching over from a rental/sprinter should watch this video. It is very informative. I used to work at a dsp as a step-van driver and these things are miles better than whatever that POS sprinter they gave me on day 1. It really is that much of a difference.

For the amount of volume you guys push, step vans would be the way to go. I used to work for FedEx Ground and absolutely loved working out of my giant step van (Freightliner p1200). I later switched to FedEx Express where I mainly drove Sprinters but every now and then they'd put me on a route with a step van and I loved it. Always be mindful of the size of your vehicle and always watch that tail swing on turns! And yes, those wires on the back door help lift the weight of it. Had one snap on me once and it was not fun to open. Keep up the great vids! Very informative!

I’m a package handler for FedEx. Started working there pretty much right after high school. My terminal wasn’t even finished with construction so I worked at a different location for about 2 months to train. Now it’s been 2 years 😅 I’m still working there. Job isn’t great but I love the fact I can do a good job and the drivers always compliment the way I load their trucks. I’ve become an occasional employee so I pretty much go whenever I want 😂 still want to find a job or career to go into where I can settle down

I'm a driver for a contractor who works for FedEx, tldr I'm a FedEx P1000 driver (what they like to call the step van trucks). The Ford 7.3L have a lot of power, though mine is a freightliner based one with a 6L chrysler. They run well enough too when in tune, but not mine lol. The truck layout really comes down to the person buying the trucks for the various contractors. The doors break in no time lol. Mine is only about 2 years old and almost nothing on it looks new, except for the screen and cameras lol. I've got 2 rear view cameras because it already had one when they upgraded the camera screens and added side cameras. We also have our front and inside camera too. So when I reverse I'll see 2 backup screens, one on my radio lol. For me the truck test was just me driving an old turbo diesel with my manager riding around the parking lot. I do want to eventually some say drive a simi

One reason its called a stepvan is because its on a van chassis the uses ford e series or newer ford is a transit chassis some also use a freightliner (Mercedes) sprinter chassis so technically it is a van since the chassis is from one its just customized by companies like utilimaster to look like that

Steps into the van but doesn’t know why they call it a Stepvan. That’s gold🤦‍♂️. Just kidding! Btw, Chevy called their earlier model the “Stepvan”. Mines a gmc and they called it a “Value Van”. Stepvan has kinda become the generic term these days although curbside delivery vehicle is the category most of these type of vehicles were referred to. I love mine though. I just wish it did highway speeds better. It’s like a brick on wheels. Im rebuilding the motor and considering doing a transmission swap to an automatic. Thanks for sharing!
