Lupe has been jealous of Kendrick's success for years now. Sad. The truth is even though Lupe is a lyricist, he's never been a great songwriter. Kendrick is one of the best songwriters the genre has to offer. So that, combined with his lyrical prowess is just going to earn him more success. Lupe hasn't accepted that he's an inferior songwriter and is essentially just very good at rhyming words.

Lupe and Kendrick are both smart people and great lyricists, but there's some pretty big philosophical divides between them that might help explain why they don't get along. Lupe, for example, is a devout Muslim, while Kendrick isn't as open about his religious views but did reference the Black Hebrew Israelites on Damn. Kendrick has vocally supported the LGBT community, but Lupe was putting out homophobic and transphobic bars as late as 2016. Finally, you can argue that there's a divide implied by their musical influences: Kendrick mostly draws from mainstream Black culture, while Lupe gets a lot of his inspiration from general alternative culture. They're both well-read and pro-Black, but it wouldn't shock me if privately they each consider the other to be more part of the problem than the solution.

Lupe ain't been right since Lasers 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I love him. I love his music, but he really needs to STFU sometimes 😩

If anything happens with Big Sean he would do what he has done every time, blame the listeners because they misunderstood him. As someone wiser and funnier than me said, some rappers fight like cats and some rappers fight like dogs.

Well, that one person who said that doesn't know how tomcats fight. 😂 TOMCATS FIGHT LIKE DOGS.

I think you're spot on re Lupe, but I'm inclined to believe Big Sean after I heard about what's been going on between him and Kanye these last few years. This might be totally naive of me, but I was sympathetic to Big Sean's position when I heard some of that interview he did with Joe Budden where he was basically saying that everyone has been reading into everything he's said since the "Control" verse to the point that he can't make jabs or be aggressive at ANYONE without it being seen as a diss at Kendrick. Idk, maybe I'm cutting him too much slack, but I kinda worry we painted him into a corner years ago for something that was definitely not his fault. Like, I love that Kendrick did what he did on "Control," but we can't pretend like Big Sean didn't get a raw deal there. It might be going too far to call him an innocent bystander, but he's at least a casualty of friendly fire lol

Atlanta has a Drake diss episode called "Champagne papi" forget a track it's an episode long diss. S2E7 from 2018 is called "Champagne Papi" and shows exactly what Kendrick was saying when he said "They be streamlining victims into their homes and callin em tender" on Meet The Grahams.

No reason why Lupe should be jealous, given his insane skill.

Lupe is definitely envious of Kendrick but I don't blame him. Kendrick signed to Aftermath, and made GKMC with the resources and guidance of Dr. Dre. Lupe signed to Atlantic, and they completely halted his momentum when they refused to release "Lasers" because they were worried about having a marketable single. Fast forward a decade, Kendrick has been able to do whatever he wants while still selling records. Lupe probably feels he should be in that position and probably would've been if he had been dealt a better hand in the industry. Kendrick also had the support and community of TDE which helped him learn and develop as an artist. Lupe"s support for Drake seems motivated by spite and that's unfortunate. Lupe has also been calling out Israel for years and has lost opportunities due to his activism while Kendrick is consistently unscathed. I don't doubt Lupe's resentful of that. Kendrick is loyal to Obama; Lupe was actually willing to call him out, something very unpopular back in 2011/2012, something you couldn't really do without being labeled a conservative or a racist. Basically, Lupe is envious and spiteful of Kendrick but I empathize even if Ultimately, I think it's hella lame

I have literally never in my life heard a person say big Sean was their favorite rapper tf who cares what he has to say or Lupe fiasco if they saw what Kdot did to Drake like we all did they would mind their business and just stick to putting music out for their own fanbase

Why is everyone instigating, I like both artists and I wouldn’t wanna see a rap battle between them. There’s nothing wrong with keeping it peaceful. He’s just focused on himself and he’s artistic projects. Kendrick is one of my top favorite rappers but that doesn’t mean I want to see him go after non sense beef all the time.

Kendrick Lamar is Rap’s boogeyman for a reason. This man can kill youin his game (Lyricism) and beat you in your own game (making a hit and do well as go number one). Ask my boy Drizzy Drake Rodgers.
