I agree with Russ on his sentiment that you have to blame some of the producers. Most producers are just following trends to get relevant, releasing type beats and selling them to the highest bidder. A producer has got to have soul. Its one thing to cater to what brings you income, but further down the line, you forget about the style you wanted to set yourself before the type beats. I understand fully how frustrating it is to hear a YG song make millions of views using a synth, bass and drum line. You start to sell your soul making these beats and people eat it up. It's a vicious cycle of soul selling and soul searching. It's why making it big as a producer is off my radar. Because at the end of the day, you can be yourself all you want but this industry wants to make money.
