Is it bad that I actually enjoyed the more relaxed version of Untucked? I liked how it was a chance to blow off steam, groan when the shoes came off and be in your feelings about a stressful competition. More than happy to rewatch again and again, thank you Green Gay for these lovely videos.

It has some real heavy hitters… Ginger, Kennedy, Miss Fame, Katya, Trixie and of course one of the most fashionable winners of all time Violet. Also to be fair, I think the queens on this season ( some of these queens are SO iconic and are BELOVED by the RPDR communit). We got Violet, Trixie and Katya. Who are some of the biggest names or are the most memorable. Violet really was the ARCHETYPE of a gorgeous, young, skinny, fashion queen. Ginger is hilarious too. I’m a fan of trixie and katya but Violet deserved it.

the cast of this season is legendary but the challenges...some of them were really good, but if you look at them, most of the challenges were pair or group challenges...and they weren't in the arsenal of a mostly fashion/look queens studded cast.. but if you look at it: EP1 - solo challenge EP2 - Group challenge EP3 - Group challenge EP4 - Group challenge EP5 - Pair challenge EP6 - Group challenge EP7 - Solo but since it's Snatch Game it is also somewhat a group challenge EP8 - Solo/Pair challenge given the makeover was with the eliminated queens. EP9 - Pair/Trio challenge EP10 - Pair challenge EP11 - solo challenge EP12 - solo challengeish..

It was the season where production fucked up multiple times. It was their first attempt at heavily pushing certain narratives instead of just asking the queens to say shady one liners. But they kept losing focus on which narratives to follow, hence you get Trixie and Max being early outs, Kandy overstaying her welcome, and a top three with not a lot of plot to gain an overwhelmingly supportive fan base like prior seasons. So you get this weird storyline of rooting for Ginger, then Pearl, and then Violet.

Seasons 4, 5 and 6 were dominant forces and 7 just didn't reach that level it's predecessors had, making it feel lacklustre. Though I do agree, that 7 has since become mid par, noting that some of the more recent seasons are much worse.

Jaidenn Diore Fierce was, imo, hugely overlooked during the season. She could have won at least 1 challenge, she is so charismatic,entertaining , fun to watch and talented and was at least top 4 material. The whole 'keeping Pearl' because she is cute argument really messed with how the season could have transpired....And the sad thing is that you can see how Jaidenn sees this during her time on the show, doing the best she can, which was great, and being left in the sideline because her storyline was not as good. The one thing I am pretty sure though is that noone could have foreseen Violet's win. She was a force of nature and I am pretty sure production was between Katia and Ginger winning ...

I’m a straight guy and Trixie and Katya were my first real exposure to Drag was through Unhhhh so my roommate showed me season 7 first. I honestly really liked it with a lot of queens I really enjoyed. It’s the reason that I’m still watching now so I think it’s fair for me to say that this is one of my favorites despite its messiness.

Hmm I'm not sure if my view on the season has improved over time, but it remains amongst the most frustrating seasons. Max, Katya, and to some extent, Trixie got shafted and I tend to forget that Violet was a winner (it's one of those seasons I have to sit and think who was there to have been a winner). That being said, the double mastectomy conjoined twin lipsync of "I think we're alone now" remains my absolute favourite.

I don’t love that you don’t really give Pearl’s side of the story and just kind of dog on her, and not explaining why she acted the way she did despite bringing it up, and acting like production loved her and she didn’t deserve any of it. To talk about how much “help” she got, and not talk about how unfairly her and Max among others were treated at times, it really feels so dismissive. Even at the end you mention Pearl being the favorite to win at the time, then add “if you can believe that”. Yes? I can? I can believe it just as much as the other two being the favorites in fans eyes. All the weird comments throughout the video like that, dismissing her looks and drag style, and not providing context for something you yourself brought up is crazy to me. Also despite making a 20 min long video, I think you genuinely missed some of the biggest reasons why people didn’t like this season at the time, and I think leaving those very clear reasons out kinda shows your bias. I mean hell I have bias too clearly, but there are largely talked about reasons that people didn’t like with this season that were just completely ignored.

I think like most of the og fans, Season 7 grew on me. First I started watching RPDR on Season 5. It was new, super interesting and very well done. Season 6 I feel in love with drag. It was AMAZING! The whole cast was relevant and then when S7 came, I felt disappointed at the time. Katyas was to me the only possible winner and Pearl was dragged to the end and I couldn't understand why. Well, I think S7 was the first to have a real riggory going on with the producers and we could feel it and see it. They wanted to know how to make that show different, appealing to other audiences and I think they were trying new things. But with the time passing, S7 grew on me. I like it. I rewatched it a couple years ago and I just loved the whole experience.

I personally liked the season, as messy as it was production wise. The thing that most set people off was the rivarly on what the show labelled as old drag and new drag, and how it affected negatively the younger queens. The audience is mostly young people, seeing someone you relate to do bad, of course you won't enjoy it. For many, Ginger was the villain leader of the bitter old ladies. I love her, she was my favorite of season 7, but there's no way she would get the crown.

Season 7 was rigged af. Violet should have gone home either in shakesqueer or in the John waters episode. It’s the same for Pearl and I’d add that the despy awards should have landed her in the bottom. Max shouldn’t have gone home for the snatch game although her landing in the bottom was justified. The top 3 should have been Kennedy, Ginger and Katya. It’s clear Ru wanted a fashion girl to win and she didn’t make an effort to disguise that intention.

Exactly. Season 6 had so many well rounded queens. Season 7 had queens who were strong mainly in one area (fashion or comedy, usually) and the queens constantly seemed to make excuses as to why they were in the bottom rather than bringing their personalities to the challenges.

I've been watching the show since season 2. My opinion: Season 7 had way too many acting challenges. The problem with these challenges is not only the queens' skills but the writing! Shakesqueer was doomed from the start. Trained Broadway actresses couldn't have saved that mess. As you pointed out, 7 was the season in which the riggedness of the competition was most blatant up to that point. We're used to it now but back then it was like wtf is production doing.
