At first they tried changing wikipedia articles to say the protagonist was a samurai in history which is based on no actual factual basis, So people pointed out they were rewriting history and trying to pretend the game was historically accurate. after they were called on this they then switched up their tone to making a strawman saying "oh assassins creed was NEVER historically accurate CHUD!" But they were the ones to bring this up in the first place and were caught red handed trying to rewrite history. This same thing happened with battlefield 5. But this is what these defenders of this stuff do all the time. they always gaslight and strawman because they can't make actual arguments to defend their marxist slop being pushed in games. They only defend bad games because they see them as propaganda for their ideology. its pathetic.

Feel like Ubi saw that Ghost of Tsushima did a much better job at mixing the Samurai and Shinobi gameplay and realised they couldn't replicate it. Im surprised you didnt mention Thomas Lockley. He was the guy that popularized the idea of Yasuke being a samurai. He was shown to edit the wiki page to promote his book. However his credentials was as an english teacher at Nihon University, not as a historian. Hes been using his fictional fanfic and claiming that it was true japanese history. So many people believed his work and will end up citing him for evidence of Yasuke being a samurai. The Japanese public caught him in this bs and he was removed from the uni and deleted his social media.

Even if Shadows flops - and it certainly will - it doesn't matter for Ubisoft. For the French state, Ubisoft is today seen as a major cultural brand and they recieve major funding from the French state to "realize" their visions. France is just another woke country among many today in the west, and with that funding comes demands such as employment requirements of more woke developers and that's how we end up with female leads who like "Big Black Cock" and so on. When Shadows flops, woke Ubisoft will just shrug their shoulders and move on, because it's not about releasing a successful product anymore, it's about the "message", and the French state is right now a guaranteer that the "message" of woke propaganda will continue, no matter how much the product fails financially.

A few things you might have forgotten to mention: Ubisoft has been accused of plagiarism by Japan over their collector edition statue, that plagiarized a historical reenactment group from Japan's emblem on the flag behind Yasuke and possibly for stealing the design of one of Zoro's swords from One Piece and giving it to Yasuke on the statue. The historical reenactment group is also currently suing Ubisoft over this because they didn't ask for permission. The man who is the main historical researcher for Shadows was found out to have lied about historical records of Yasuke, because he was messing with the wikipedia articles on Yasuke to make him look cooler for his book on the man. He essentially made up history to make him look better so he could sell more copies of his book, which was a lie he made up. The man worked a Japanese college for many years and nobody knew he did this until recently, and now the college has scrubbed all association with him and fired his ass. He has since gone completely offline and is likely trying to flee Japan as fast as possible because everybody in the country does not like him.

He tried to help Nobunaga's son rise to power or something after his lord died, but I think he stood his ground and fought both times. Not that he managed to accomplish anything by doing so. He lost both times. To be fair, he never stood a chance against those odds.
