Remember how saf I felt when the Boarwalk closed ( even if It was a dump), the New Frontier, the westward Ho, the beautifull Desert Inn, Stardust, Riviera, the old Sahara. Now It comes down to the Flamingo witch there Is not. Lot of the old place left. Thanks for all that work you are putting up Steven, great content!

Why does Vegas need another stadium that's crazy 😧 they're tearing down a piece of history for a baseball stadium just unbelievable 😭 they seriously just want to bring in more sports action for that money 💰 now I'm seriously depressed about this going away 💔😢 this is a sin!

Another stadium? The traffic will be crazy! Like L.A crazy… what happens during the few weeks all 3 teams will have games? Add a concert …. Phew! Luckily the locals know how to get around most of the strip traffic🙂

In 1989 I went to the Folies Bergere at the Tropicana. A great evening for sure. Just looked up the history of that show.....longest running show in Las Vegas history 1959-2009.

Saw the same show in 1978 on my all paid for4 day first trip to Vegas. Nick Naff was our host for the 4 days. He took us to shows ( Paul Anka, Freddie Prince, introduced us to Gladys Knight and the Pips and Johnny Cash, front rows seats, took us to restaurants and private clubs where all the Follies dancers went and behind the casino scene. I was hooked. It was a dream weekend, I was 30. I am now 77 and have been 40+ times,,last 2019BC most likely my last because it is not Vegas anymore and hasn’t been for years - to bad.

16 years ago, my wife and I took our son to the burlesque show. (Folies de Breshre) He was only 15, and his eyes were as big as saucers. when the showgirls came out I also remember the trapeze artists that would fly above the poker tables in the middle of the casino every hour. I stayed there with my brother one time and they put us in a room. It was so far away. I swear it took a half an hour to get to the casino floor. I enjoyed their Hawaiian themed buffet. we were in Vegas for Christmas this year, and I did go over there from the New York New York. It’s definitely bittersweet thanks Stephen.

I was born and raised in Vegas and have been to the Tropicana many times. So many fond memories of the Trop and Vegas of the 80's-2000's. I live in Reno now and haven't been back to Vegas for about a year now. It's really sad how the Vegas I grew up in is mostly gone now. I think the only "original" casinos left on the Strip are Caesars and Circus Circus now. It seems like the city can't wait to tear its history down.

years ago when I was a taxi driver at night during my masters at UNLV, the taxi stand guy at the tropicana had control over the music and would take requests, but would always switch back when people came. This lasted about a week, then it stopped. To this day I dunno why

The first time I went to this property the casino floor was open and spacious. After the redo it became so chopped up and very lack luster. The property is too vanilla and I think that was its undoing. I want to see a strip property or properties offer a 93% payback on all slots and stir up the pot and grab up most of the business.

I only visited the Tropicana once when I was in Las Vegas. I wanted to see that stained glass ceiling. At the time they played live games under it. I played my first time playing other than slots there. I hope they find someway to save that piece of the Trop. and relocate it to a new or remodeled casino or museum.

I went to the Trop a few times over the years. It was purely for the nostalgia because I never walked out of that casino with more money than I went in with. MGM, Bally's (before Horseshoe), Flamingo, Aria, and Caesars Palace have all been good to me in the past. Bellagio, Wynn, and Venetian not so much. I don't think many people will really miss the Trop.

Hello Steven :)- I am a long time follower of your and a resident who has lived in this city since 2011, I am completely disgusted with the direction that VEGA$ is choosing to go as I feel that the history is being put to rest which will just make Las Vegas just another city as it is turning into another commercialized LA, New York or any other major metropolitan city !!! :(- Kudos to You!!

My last visit in 2019 I stood in line for delayed Prince Tribute beside brilliant Pat Benatar performer I had watched the previous night. The Prince tribute was delayed far too long and I elected to get a refund and leave to attend another show. M last memory of the Tropicana.

I just don't understand why these casinos are so against filming inside. it's free advertising! I've definitely made decisions to stay at places after watching these videos. I get they don't like people filming the table games area but a simple walkthrough should be fine. maybe because some streamers can be disruptive? I never stayed at Tropicana but I'm glad I was able to visit a few times.

Sinless City is still mired in the 1960's way of thinking and they just can't seem to want to put their arms around the 21 century, and they experts at building White Elephants. As fewer and fewer people attend sport venues, it would be like Sinless City to build a sports stadium.

Vegas may have pro football and now baseball soon, but it's not in a good place, business ie gambling is down , hotel rooms down, people can gamble in their own backyard is the bottom line. Vegas doesn't have a monopoly on it anymore. Especially slots and sports betting, and don't get me wrong I loved Vegas in the 60s through 80s, hell i used to love Reno. I still go once a year to Vegas , but it's not what it once was, yes you have to change with the times , Vegas can only change with the times so many times

The old true Vegas died as a great adult only oasis years ago early to late a 80’s. It is now Disneyland with gambling, high prices, poor hospitality, tight machines, lousy rewards programs, more crime inside and out of casinos and the end of the Tropicana is just another example of how the corporations change the face of what was the only adult playground in the world.

I’ve been to Las Vegas well over 20 times, but I only visited the Trop once. It was quiet and dull, but they had decent blackjack rules. I left with a $1 chip for my collection. That’s all I can say about it. I think the A’s are a terrible team for Las Vegas. Their owner is terrible, and he is trying to fleece the city. Tell him to take his sorry team to Nashville.
