I like him because he's a kid who doesn't a lot and has practically been born in despair, but he fights for a better tomorrow with his powers. He's painfully optimistic, and judges by actions rather than looks. He's awkward around new people that I can understand 😌 and when he's angry he doesn't play around. On picture he's not typically an ever-smiling ray of purity (like IDW makes him out to be) but even without that being constantly shoved in our face, he's still a good guy who deserves a lot😊 There's just something to love to love about him wherever you look ya know? 💗

Silver's "inhibitor rings" are meant to open and close whenever he uses his psychokineses. The animation goes unused in normal '06, but it was restored in P-06.

Last year during summertime Silver became my third favorite character in the Sonic franchise beside Sonic and Shadow, and I am sick of the fact that he has been pushed to the side and has never played a big roll in in any Sonic game since 06. I'd love to play as him in Sonic games that aren't spin-offs and mobile ones. That's 1 of the reasons why I've been thinking of downloading that Project-06 Windows PC fanmade remake of Sonic 06, when the final product of it becomes available. I really want Silver to be playable in future official Sonic games too, and I also hope for him to be the character who will apear in the mid-credts scene of the Sonic 3 movie that will be released in December this year.

Actually when I get into Sonic fandom, I want to know more about Silver than Sonic when I first saw him. Silver is really like a little brother that you want to hug after achieving something. He's someone you want to have at your side because you know even if he cannot do it, he will at least try his hardest against impossible odds. That's the feeling I got after looking at the ending of Silver's story in Sonic 06, Archie Silver Saga, Archie Silver Age and the IDW Metal Virus arc. I think Silver is probably more of a rival to Sonic than Shadow is, in the sense that Silver is closer to fill Sonic's role and personality than Shadow, while Shadow is more of the opposite in terms of way of doing things and personality.

You know, I kinda wonder how the whole "Silver is just a silly little guy" thing came about. Don't get me wrong, I love Silver, but I can't really pinpoint when people started treating him like that. If you look at he games, Silver really isn't a silly little guy. Sure, he's usually naive, and an optimist, but he's not usually so happy and enthusiastic. 06, Rivals, Generations, Forces, all the games where he has semi-notable roles, he never does anything silly, he barely even cracks a smile. What I think happened with Silver is this. Back in the day, it's undeniable the Sonic fanbase was a lot more jaded. Watch parodies from 10 years ago (jesus christ) and you can sense an aura of bitterness. And whenever Silver appeared, it was pretty much only to be bullied. And to make the joke land better, Silver would appear extremely depressed after the bullying. This constant use of Silver having extreme emotions (or rather, emotion, that being sadness) might have evolved into his more modern character of being a silly little guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve

Silver is my favorite Sonic character. His kindness and determination, his design, his powers. He's just incredible. I've seen some people say they don't like how he is entirely portrayed in IDW, being more silly at times, but the way I see it is him being more at ease. Silver lived most of his life alone in an apocalyptic world, not the most cheerful environment. He had to be serious and strong to survive. But after coming to the past so many times and making new friends, a lot of that tension is gone. Now he's in a situation where he's in the past, but there's no danger to the future. He's not sure what to do as his whole life has been an uphill battle, and now learning how do cope and move forward with that. I also love that IDW is continuing to explore Silver and Blaze's friendship. They both get the chance to relax and explore this world together.

Silver’s story in 06 is my favorite of the three hedgehog stories along with his best friend Blaze the Cat my favorite female character and her sacrifice at the end still makes me cry 😢 I also love Silver’s kind nature where he helps Amy look for a friend not realizing that it’s Sonic and the scene where he gives young Elise the Blue Chaos Emerald as lucky charm after she lost her father makes me love him even more thanks for sharing this video of my favorite futuristic hedgehog 👍🤍🦔

I think his spikes are similar to the defence position hedgehogs do when they want to attack but defend their faces (their forehead spikes go up). Each or the hedgies spikes show their personality. Amy: the most friendly, her spikes are all down Sonic: he's generally chill but not 100% friendly so they are down put slightly up Silver: he's more aggressive but it's self protective as well (considering his childhood and background) Shadow: in full defense position (criss cross position) but not self protective at all. I LOVE SILVER THE HEDGEHOG and he's one of my favorite characters. He is so unique compared to the rest of his friends. He has psychonesis he's able to make objects using them and he's able to lift everything around him including people. And he's able to use chaos energy to turn into a super form and to perform chaos control. He's strong enough to beat sonic and almost kill him if Amy and Shadow didn't step into help him. And he was doing all this to protect a future where everyone can live in peace. And he lost the best friend while trying to complete this mission. And that's why I love Silver so much. He embodies so much hope in a dead world. Silver is always trying to protect his loved ones and to protect his future. His naivete is actually his greatest strength since it drives him to be more good. He's just a guy who has been through a lot of tragedy and pain, who is still trying to make a change. And Silver is way more stronger than people think he is and the infinite situation isn't exactly the best scenario of how strong Silver can be. He was able to fight deities and fight a God like being that is present in the past, the present, and the future and he was able to beat that. But what really keeps this guy going is that burning optimism and that sense of justice knowing that everyone will reach their absolution and their dreams. And he's just adorable gum drop who just really needs a hug. And his theme song actually shows his feelings about losing a friend and wishing for that dream of that absolution. And the IDW comics really gives Silver his great character of how well he can hang out with sonic and the rest of the crew. He's like the optimistic sense of hope in that one friend in your group. I would compare him to like Steven Universe as a good example. And having his cool moments like fighting against the metal virus and hanging out with the diamond cutters and even going super along with Sonic it's beating the Metal virus once and for all. He was able to do all these things and prove that he can be one of the most powerful as people in that universe and that's why I love Silver for who he is. His idea is so abstract, special, and unique in a way. A person who always holds hope even in the most darkest of times and never gives up. That's what makes SILVER THE HEDGEHOG so GREAT and BEAUTIFUL 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩!!!!!

silver is absolutely my favorite character, maybe of all time. but i do wanna say that there was a time where silver was hated by the extremely large group of people that wanted to trash everything that came out of 06, always talking about his slow gameplay, his boss fight, his portrayal in the comics annoying readers, "weed hair," hating his voice, and the extremely odd homophobia because of the widespread idea that he was whiny. it was kind of a hellscape out there for a while in the early days, like i was in the trenches defending him as a lil 9 year old. there's a lot of punching bag silver content that used to circle around in fanworks, which over time, started to become more endearing to him, but at the time a lot of it was just that typical "draw a character getting beat to death to show you hate them" kind of thing. as consequence of it all, a lot of younger fans that i used to interact with as a child would parrot those ideas to each other and spread them, until they were able to form their own opinions until everyone realized that hey, silver is fucking awesome. this was mainly around immediately post-06 and then lingering into the early 2010's, but it honestly really surprised me to learn, upon returning to the series hardcore this past year after being on and off repressing it for being childish, that everyone apparently LOVES silver now. it's the odd phenomenon regarding 06's legacy, where the whole game, every story element and character used to be thrashed and sega pulled away from anything resembling it, but now we have project 06 and the perspective on the game itself has completely changed for a grand majority. silver was probably part of that major pull back from sega due to how negatively received he specifically was at the time, since even though he was a character introduced as part of a trio along with shadow and sonic, he faded off into party modes and brief references. i'm really grateful for evan stanley's pushes for him in archie, and now the beginning of his revival in idw. it's been a wonder to behold. i could talk about how much i love silver forever, for a multitude of reasons that are deeply personal and have endured for years since i first saw him, rooted for him, and held him close in my heart, but this video did a really great job of covering many general points. i've had my silver plush since the first one dropped and just recently, he's gone with me in full attire to the sonic symphony. his fur is a little worn and his tag is frayed, but he has been with me for all of my life, and i'm so grateful for it. please sega, bring him back in full glory and give us that SSS era !!

It's honestly kind of miraculous that Silver is such a popular character. Considering that he debuted in one of the worst Sonic games, it's a miracle that SEGA didn't just pretend that he never existed and continued to put him in future Sonic games (whether it make sense or not).

I think a Silver focused game or mode would be great, his gameplay came too early, physics were still very experimental in 2006, and then you have the buggy nature of the game itself ontop. Nowadays making that stuff work would be a lot easier and fine tuned.

One thing I really liked about Pete Capella’s Silver was his blunt, stubborn, and somewhat ill-tempered nature, with the character’s strong sense of justice and genuine desire to do good balancing that out. In my opinion, this really set the character apart from his inspiration, Trunks. But with his voice since 2010, this aspect of his character has been totally switched, to where he is simply polite and unwilling to argue (as seen when Sonic was engaging in some trash talk with him in Sonic Team Racing). Don’t get me wrong, I mean no offense to his current voice actor whatsoever, I just preferred the way he was written in Sonic 06 and the Rivals games.

This isn't Trunks 🤨 Fr tho I think Silver is aight but he could be better if Sonic Team just delve into his world and gave him his own game. I want to see what does Silver do in his homeworld like does he have his own friends he hang out with, what enemies does he face in his world, favorite type of hobby once he's done with his mission, how did he get his powers, etc. I like the fact that Silver is inspired by Future Trunks but I felt like all he ever been was another Trunks who keeps on going back to the past cuz his future is in danger for the one millionth time. And I get that Sonic n Shadow are basically like Goku n Vegeta but at least they have different personalities and background that aren't a total copy of the 2 DBZ goats (Don't bring up Boom or metal virus Shadow, those ain't Shadow). Nope Does he even have a reason to care about his time? Not really The only thing that we COMPLETELY know from the guy's background is that he's from 200 years in the future and he goes back in time to save the world.
