The coolest thing about this boss fight is that Mephiles is just as much of a threat to the world as the Time Eater and Black Doom, but Shadow isn't even aware of that. He saved the universe by defeating Mephiles, and nobody will ever know, not even Shadow himself. In Shadow's mind, Black Doom was the most dangerous foe he defeated during the events of the game. That means Mephiles has been ignored AGAIN; erased from history AGAIN.

This is an underrated game that only really got bad reviews in the west. Internationally it scored pretty high. I always thought this game did the best job at returning to a more momentum based style of Sonic gameplay that all the 3D titles up to that point had been lacking. The best Sonic games treat speed as something you have to earn, not treat it as the main gameplay itself.

Wall Dash was the Pink Spike Wisp Power technically & we also have the similar Super Bounce from Adventure 2 that could have lent well to 2D.

I love how they got Minho Kim (DEEGEEMIN) to do the art for the prologue comic for this fangame. (FYI, yes, there is a short comic for Sonic Galactic done by the devs. And Deegeemin is the dude who literally worked on many official art related stuff for Sonic.)

8:20 Wii versions 2d sections and wisp are, in my ( and someothers) opinion so painfully boring and limited with so much automationin 3d, and ds was better in wisps, but still it had some problems .

This art style is beautiful. Exactly what the follow up to Mania should have looked like instead of the filthy art in Superstars.

Its amazing how Shadow Generations showed how great Sonic 06 could've been with just a few levels and a boss fight. Praying Sega let the Generations team remake 06 in this style.

I’m gonna say it. Sonic has been *COOKING.* the sonic movie trilogy, sonic frontiers (yes I know frontiers is controversial but it’s still a solid game), sonic x shadow generations, you name it.

I think everything that’s happened so far in FF7R is a dream. Sephiroth says it himself, how can Cloud be sure anything he sees or feels is real? And don’t forget the first Jenova we fought in R isn’t Jenova Birth it’s Jenova Dream Weaver. So I think there’s strong evidence that everything we’ve seen is Cloud dreaming and reliving his memories with Sephiroth and Aerith trying to gain control over his actions. So I think how things will end is they’ll get to the Northern Crater, Cloud will stab Sephiroth with his black materia blade but instead of killing Sephiroth this will power him up. At this point we will finally wake up, returning to the real world, and we’ll finally find out what’s really going on with this trilogy.

I'm gonna be honest. I'm a simple guy, I grew up playing Sonic 06 constantly. I know tons, if not all, of Sonic fans hate Sonic 06 but I personally really like the story alot. Like yeah sure you spend the whole game going through this rigamarole just to undo it by the end of the game but think of it this way: Mephiles fusing with Iblis to become Solaris that exists in the past, present and future, a creature so powerful it took 3 Super Hedgehogs to bring it down in the three separate spaces of time, twice. So powerful that literally the only way to actually stop the creature in it's entirety, is to go back and ever stop it existing in the first place. Mephiles spent the whole game absolutely playing and deceiving every character at every turn in multiple timelines just to make sure he fuses with Iblis is insane. All that while also trying to get revenge on Shadow just because he's petty. I want Mephiles and Iblis to return so bad, and I'm glad P-06 exists to make the game much more enjoyable but I have to say, it sucks knowing most people dislike the game and now all we have is the actual game, P-06 and this boss fight. Mephelis/Solaris strikes me as the "Thanos" type of Villain. So powerful that anything and everything had to be done just to stop the guy. I think it's all underrated and overhated. (Minus Elise kissing Sonic, they genuinely didn't have to do that).

I often hear my american friends hate on Sonic CD because it's as vertical as it is wide, this is because it encourages exploration. And yet they dislike "boost games" excluding Unleashed, because they lack exploration. These guys aren't just moving goal posts, they've replaced their whole team with goal posts in football kits, so no matter where they kick the ball, it will only land in their goal(s). (They also praise Knuckles Chaotix which does the exact same thing but takes speed out of the picture (which is something they hate games like Lost World for doing).

Watching this video and reading the comments makes me feel like Sonic fans on the internet don't even like Sonic. They play the games to stay up with the discourse and make hot takes for the sake of it.

This already beats all of the classic Sonic games bar S3&K but some fans aren't ready for that conversation.
