nahhhh claymores exist, even when we're taking their attack animation and clunkiness aside, catalysts has a loads ton more meta relevant unit in the game as of now (Nahida, Neuvy, Baizhu, Yae, etc), meanwhile the only meta claymore char you can argue as of now is Navia (who's damage majority comes from skill and not normal attacks) and MAYBE Diluc if you wanna cope Xianyun's plunge attack that hard, everyone else claymore is either niche or mehhh

Having a high percentage increase to a character with their weapon is only bad if that increase is the barrier to being viable, but when a character is as powerful as him and easily wipes content on low commitment builds, I think it's a different story.

Can attest to this - I wasn't sure he'd be able to take down Abyss mages' shield enough (obviously can't with the hydro abyss mage's bubble), but all the others, his charged attack just keeps going until the shield breaks and the mages die on impact. Same with the ruin graders and guards - despite not weakening them first with my bow characters as I used to do. He just... charges right through.

I love it when we get lore-accurate, plot-important strong characters that are not archons. His downsides aren't even critical; he's strong without Tome and can float far away enough to avoid attacks and allow the player to manually control him. He can't use NA-dependent off-field damage dealers but we have so many units to choose from anyway and doesn't make him so niche that he's dependent on specific supports

I can see it happening... also if you notice all the archons are top tier supports (yes raiden is a support. she is a walking powerbank. it just so happens that she hits hard). Pretty much, but imo the gods (the major Olympians, at least) are stronger than the titans, whereas the sovereigns are strongly implied to be stronger than their successor archons. Gods fear the primordial beings tho, like Gaia, Nyx, etc. Hoping for more info on The Primordial One/its four shades

I'd actually beg to differ. He isn't very f2p friendly, depending on what your goal is! (Important distinction) What I mean is this, can you clear abyss with prototype amber at c0, yes of course and if that is your goal then yes he's very strong. If your goal is to pseudo speedrun or just be as strong as possible, then he simply is not f2p friendly, the difference in his f2p weapon and gacha is huge like one of the largest in the game. His c1 means you no longer need to compromise furina or passive. For example an end game hu Tao c0 with dragons bane will in single/multi target scenarios almost always be faster. However in aoe and if you only want to reach the 36* threshold then a c0 f2p Neuvilette is probably less artifact reliant. Last note, you still 100% want crit not just hp.

@Roinur never even thought about how expensive it is to reach his ceiling damage your rigth on that good point. But I think your selling him a bit short on because in my experience he does a quite a bit better than my hu tao in mutlitarget situations with them being both c0 and him being on pamber with hu tao being r5 dbane. And that is with my girl being in the top 1% MH/dbane holding hu tao on akasha.cv so im confident thats touching endgame level atleast

@@agiant5715I meant more hsr type multi like 1-3 enemies, but I can totally see Neuvilette out damaging her if you line the enemies up, after all alot of hu tao team dmg is single target oriented off field dps. And don't get me wrong Neuvilette is one of the best DPS in the game but he simply isn't this "best in all categories" type char. He's just stupidly consistent which is very good for 95% of the game/players, but not optimal if you want to reach the utmost limit in a certain field.

I was saving my pulls for Wriothesley since I loved his design and playstyle, but then saw Neuvillettes role in the story and thought "hey this guy seems great, but if I blow my 50/50 I might not get Rizzly". Ended up pulling Neuvillette and his weapon and never looked back, he's carried my teams to greatness the moment I got him. I ended up getting Wrio anyway, just without his weapon like I wanted, but honestly I couldn't be happier

I don't know how there will ever be a better carry than Neuvillette, the way his kit function make it so that he is the strongest in AOE, one of the best in ST while also having range and mobility. It's very easy to deal his maximum damage output, on the other hand most carries can be limited by skill issue, bosses moving, stagger ... Did I mention that he is pretty immortal with his 40K HP and insane self heal?

I want and believe with what we know about the Sovereigns that they are on top of the Archons when their original power is unlocked. I think it makes sense for Neuvi to be a complete unit by itself. Self buff, scale with HP and can self heal and he takes less damage during hyperbeam. At C1 you have a permanent 10% extra damage, can't be interrupted and now your Furina x Neuvillette team is more potent. When it comes to clearing the abyss with ease either with a proper team or solo, he is perfect for it.

I totally agree with your take on Neuvillette. I rolled for him because I loved his character design and I needed more Hydro characters to pick from. I haven't regretted getting him. He's been amazing for bosses, for random enemies (minus ones immune to Hydro), and just really fun to use overall. The only real thing I did before he came out was I grinded out a set of Marechaussee Hunter for him since I heard it was going to be good for him. I really like that I don't need C1 to make use of Neuvillette though. He's vulnerable to interruption without C1, but a shielder like Layla, Baizhu, or Zhongli can solve that problem. If you have C1, then you don't need the shielder and that opens you up to having an open third slot on your team that can assist with more Hydro reactions.

MiHoYo did the playerbase dirty so many times, they had to provide a powerwasher to apologize. But honestly, Neuvilette is, just as you said, basically a perfect character. For newcomers, he's a comfy hypercarry with low investment needs and high flexibility, meaning you can immediately build a team around him, even with the starting cast. And the further you go, he remains powerful as you improve your skills and understanding of the metagame. If his playstyle wasn't so miserably boring and uninvolved to me, I would've pulled for him easily. Still, he's undeniably an easy recommendation for basically anyone.

Same case for me, like I only played a bit on trial and immediately thought ‘I’ll get bored of this in one patch. Then more event came where he is usable for free. I already am so bored with him. I guess a lot of damage is what “fun” for lots of them… I know it’s coming, so imma say it first for the salty defenders. No, I didn’t lose 50/50 (Can’t lose if I didn’t pull a single time on him), I could easily get him c3+ RN if I want to. Have 93k primo saved + 65 fates but it’s for Someone with more engaging gameplay whom I don’t yet. Probably Columbina.

Venti has been outshined by Kazuha for ages, Zhongli has barely any teams where he isn’t a DPS loss, Raiden is a mediocre main DPS and a Kuki sidegrade in hyperbloom. Only Nahida can be called the best, and that’s it, that doesn’t make a trend. As for the scuffed part - that’s just common sense. If the guy implies that lore significance should be tied to gameplay, then it’s fair to assume that the other characters shouldn’t have a good gameplay whatsoever. Sure that’s far-fetched, but that’s one of the main points of that dumbass. The guy is literally making up excuses for the poor game balancing on the whim without any regard for the actual state of the game, nothing beyond that.

We already have this team. Neuvilette, dehya, Nahida, Raiden. Dehya gives neuvilette 100% interrupt resistance while proccing burn for neuvilette to burn. You also get hbs from Raiden. This team won't have burgeons though because dehyas app is really slow here, mostly there to provide some pyro for burn reaction for neuv to vape.

seeing this makes me wonder if we're gonna get a what happened to Ayato Video. like during the 4.4 abyss unlike childe he didn't bounce back to the top 25 most used. like i thought he can still hold on even with neuvillette i wonder if he'll actually bounce back this patch. i'm a hydro collector because i use Hydro for whatever situation necessary i know it's not necessary to pull every hydro character in the game but i do like having alot for any situation. I still use Ayato from time to time, because other units are just felt better in alot of the teams, i mean that's probably the case with the whole Jack of all trades Master of none, Versatility and ease of use are nice but that's at the cost of Power, and i guess people like versatility but they also want power as well it's kinda like C0 Raiden but Raiden has more stuff in her kit. when it comes to on field: -Vape has Childe who has a ton Hydro app through his Skill and Riptides to help XL Vape, while also making up 40% to 50 or 60% damage contribution. and double swirling feels easier with him than Ayato since he doesn't need his burst to help double swirl. -Neuvillette mostly beats him everywhere else -Kokomi has Taser and Mono. the place i think where he shines are Soup, and non hyperbloom centered dendro comps, but the problem is, some of those spots can be somewhat contentious with the fish. now when it comes to off field: i think this is where i think people somewhat underestimated him since he has the biggest AoE when it comes to off field Hydro app since the rest have either very small AoE or very ST oriented, but i doubt he's still better than The Fish and the three XQs, the others provide more stuff though. XQ has off field damage, App and pseudo shielding and mitigation. Yelan has off field damage and a ramping buff. Furina has higher personal even though she needs a healer, she her buffing is still really good since it also buffs the entire team. also these three can make a really strong core. I.E Double Hydro Kokomi can heal, Can hold TTDS to buff attack based units, and she can refresh her jellyfish

I used to cower in fear before the wenut and ruin serpent in the abyss, but neuv turns them into overworld enemies. I'm also c1r1 with triple crowned talents and hella investment, but even if he did half the damage he does, id still main him because of how fun it is to hydro pump everything off the face of the earth.

I need to correct one thing stated in the video. In order to max out his passive, Neuvillette needs three HYDRO reactions, meaning something along the lines of, Crystallize, Electro Charge, and Bloom, Hyperbloom wouldn't count towards his buff total, so without C1, his personal damage takes a hit in Double Hydro teams. So basically, in order to maximize his DPS with Furina (the two have insane synergy), he needs C1. Other than that, mostly agree!

Thats to maximize his damage, but Furina's damage boost is so high that you're getting a higher damage output running the two together than you would with a different element even without c1.

His C1 makes his personal damage goes up, hence why I picked it up but in truth, he really doesn't need it all. Or more precisely, his team doesn't need it considering the amount of already good selection of off-fielders in the game that synergizes well with his kit and element. You can literally slot in "bad" characters like Dehya and he will deal huge damage regardless. My favorite Neuvillette team ever since release has always been Nahida/any off field dendro, Kuki/Raiden, Dehya and Neuvillette. This team deals so much damage it's actually laughable

It's all about team building. But I wanted to mention it because in the video, he makes it appear as if Hyperbloom contributes to Neuvillette's Passive count. That's all.

He is the most broken character released bar none. I have been able to solo one side of the abyss with C0 R1 Neuvilette every single abyss since he came out. Other people have also done such stuff with some other characters, but they have high investment, cons or play exceptionally. I don't do any of that and Neuvi still gets it done in like 2-3 tries max. He's broken no questions asked.

I'm so happy they gave such a good character to Hiroshi Kamiya. It's killing 2 birds with one stone for me 🥲 On another note, personally, I don't think he is overrated 'cause being able to self-sustain and deal good damage even if you don't give him the traditional buffer teammates just for the sake of buffing him is such a good thing. If evaluated like that, it's just facts What makes him "overrated" is because other players (his extremist fans) tend to be SOO annoying and say everyone else not him is unusable or trash. It's like the old toxic Ganyu fans just switched over to Neuv mains. Even more so rn with Arle beta, when they aren't even the same element. So, while I do still recognize Neuv's pros and powerlevel, I can see why some would start to hate him and think him "overrated"

for me the c1 is already c0. a lot of the time u will encounter an enemy who has an elemental atk or they themself becomes the element themself if its not hydro then neuvi can trigger a reaction already. for me is overpower like he has 0 weakness while someone like ayato who isnt the strongest but has a balance kit.

His downsides have so many workarounds. Gets interrupted at C0? You can float far away enough from enemies to anticipate incoming attacks. Can't use NA-dependent sub-dps? We have a LOT of other 4* and 5* options and that'd mean you can run units like xingqiu or yelan on the other side. Unlike other damage dealers, he doesn't need niche supports, or even supports at all. He's a powerhouse on his own and a comfortable one at that. The self-battery and self-heal is insane, it's unbelievable. With C1 and Tome he becomes truly braindead to play

I love Neuvilette's character, and his kit, visually, is cool as hell. I prefer Childe over him though - unfortunately I just find Neuvilette's playstyle incredibly uncompelling to play, it's just so boring. Not in the "he's so broken he makes things trivial" way, though that's probably also true, but in the "wow this gameplay is boring" kinda way. I think I feel about Neuvilette's kit the same way most people feel about charge attack bow characters.

Neuvillette was the first and only character I whaled, going to C6R4, and I've never regretted it since. Anything I use him in becomes extremely braindead, and I love it. I bring him into Abyss with Kazuha, Childe, and Fischl, and just wipeout one entire side with no real effort. And for the combat events we've had since, I used Neuvillette in at least part of all of them, and he got me my first ever platinum medals in them. It's to the point where I can't even imagine what I would do without him as an "easy win" button against any non-Hydro-immune enemy.

Nahida synergizes with every sumeru carry and zhongli synergises with every liyue carry to some extent So I know that when Fontaine rolled around. I was gonna get the hydro archon and a Fontaine carry of choice to go with. Also, wanderer doesn't synergise with nahida. Could this mean arlachino doesn't synergise with furina? Interesting to see how that unfolds

Arlecchino's kit has been leaked and it seems like she was designed to not work with furina because one of her passives makes it so that she cannot receive healing from other teamates when in combat. And with the way her kit works, you would lose damage even if you could be healed.

I pulled for him during his last rerun since I missed his initial run during my Genshin hiatus. He's easily my favorite character in the whole game by far because of his lore/design/personality, and it's just extra satisfying to see that he's an extremely meta unit too. Got him to C6R1 and don't regret it one bit. Even if having all of his constellations makes him even more stupidly busted (like... his C6 makes his charged attack last FOREVER + he just obliterates F12 of Abyss with ease) and some would say that it makes him more "boring" - him being my favorite character was worth the spoiling. 🐉💙💧
