Hi Sophie, love your video. I would be an older traveler, I’m 55. I was in the front row of the temple of doom ride in Disneyland Paris some years ago, and I heard the two young girls behind me say ‘poor madame’ I suddenly felt so self conscious, and I have not traveled alone since. I did get back to Disneyland this year with my daughter, it was great to get back to the park. You’ve really helped me think about it differently, and I may go back again solo. It’s so nice to see someone who loves Disney as much as I do, your channel is amazing. Thank you.

I am so sorry this happened to you! I often think people who make comments like that are projecting. They can be people who aren't comfortable with their own company or don't have the confidence to do things on their own so project their insecurities others. When in reality most solo travellers have chosen to visit that way and are living their best lives! You deserve to be as happy as anyone else. Even if that means you're happy alone. It's not up to other people to determine if you get to be happy or not. I'm sorry that was your experience. Well I guess this 50 year old 'girl' will maybe also be considered a poor woman but boy, I am looking so forward to my future (solo) trips. And yes, I am a bit unsure and self conscious but I am doing this. Husband and (older) kids can't be bothered with Disney anymore (we did have an annual pass for 2 years some 12 years ago) but it is my happy place. I could honestly live there 🙂. So I'm going for it just like you! ❤

Just returned from my 1st solo Disneyland trip and loved it. @72 I did everything where and when I wanted. I was way too busy taking it all in to get lonely.

@@MostMagicalGuides Never once thought about feeling lonely -- too busy using my energy to eat or scooter myself to and the through the next ride. I can't wait to go next year but I can bet my granddaughters will want to go. The first time I rode the Matterhorn in years because no one ever wanted to go. They have no idea what they are missing. Ridding the rides at night time is really cool.

My son got a bug up his **** and would not let me take the girls so I went alone; in fact we could not do anything for 5 months.I can bet to his surprise I went without them. Now, the girls and I already have plans to attend a town parade. I can also bet they will be coming with me next year. I will always remember my "solo" trip.

I remember as a kid we went and I wanted a mickey cookie but my mum wouldn’t let me, she wouldn’t let us ride something twice ‘ah you don’t need to’ she just constatnstly reminded us how much everything was or how unhealthy it was , I cannot wait to return solo and buy that cookie 😅

I’ve been solo twice to my home park in California, and will be solo in Disneyland Paris next week. I love going solo just as much as with my family! I completely agree with all the reasons you listed and I would only add: single rider lines are much shorter! I use them every chance I get!

I've taken 1 solo trip and met up with a friend there for the Eat To The Beat shows. We were both fans of the same band that played there so we'd hang out in line for that and then separate in between to do our own things. I really enjoyed that.

I go to Disneyland in November with 4 other people and im so exited even if it's my 12th visit (I guess) but I never was alone in disney and I rly wanna try this one day too :) normally I go with my brother so it's a new experience to go with a larger group but like you said i had to made lot of planing and include all the wishes from the others.

@@projectpositive8249 Disney World can have rain in October but it usually is less likely than in the summer months. Often in Florida the rainstorms are short-lived which is good news so they don't tend to put a damper on your day for too long! There aren't often scheduled maintenance for rides in October so it is a great time to visit! Plus you have all the awesome Halloween celebrations!

Love your videos! I personally love travelling solo, but have never done wdw solo. My dad and I had a trip planned but sadly, he can no longer fly. My main concern is that I’d also love to go to the malls, target, etc. I was wondering if you had experienced getting Ubers solo and if so, how you found the experience?

I hope you get to enjoy adventures together closer to home! I always hire a car when I am in Orlando so haven't used Uber or Lyft, but I do know a lot of people who swear by them!

Hi Cathie! I have dined solo at Auberge! It was a super fantastic character dining experience and the food was lovely too! The princesses were fab and I had really great interactions with them! We were having a proper chat and it was so fun! You will have the best time! The princesses really made me feel at ease and I totally was in the moment so didn't notice anyone else! And I think everyone is so focussed on their food or meeting the characters themselves that they don't really noticed anyone else which was nice!

It is definitely worth the experience! Although Disney does attract families and couples there are a surprising amount of solo travellers or locals with annual passes so do see a lot of people enjoying Disney on their own too which is fabulous! There is also so much to see, do and experience you totally end up in your own bubble and don't really notice anyone else so you can get totally wrapped up in the magic and experience the parks in the way you want which is such a bonus with a Disney trip! If you have any questions please feel free to ask as I've done quite a few solo Disney trip and am off to Disney World in 10 days time solo too!

I had an unexpected solo trip (friend cancelled 2 days before) & I can’t say I was a fan, maybe cause I wasn’t expecting to be solo lol Also got some right funny looks in the queues for characters so that put me off meeting them 😢 made me feel weird! Oh & my worst experience was my wallet got stolen while at dlp for my birthday 😒 But yeah single rider lines are fab & with dining, that part didn’t bother me was more just what I listed above lol! Oh I am so sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience! And your wallet being stolen is the worst! I think a planned solo trip and an unexpected one can be quite different as it is not what you had expected your trip to be. It is sad people gave you funny looks in character meet queues! I think I get so caught up in Disney I am a bit oblivious! 😂 I often think it is also a projection of people not being comfortable doing things on their own so they can't understand people who are! I hope any future Disney experiences you have are much better!
