@davidsirmons

@Underwater Laser I understand this observation's intent. Still, one has to qualify what is meant by "better". Remember that Hitler was doing what he himself thought was "better" for Germany, which had a 95 percent participation rate in their Nazi Party. The same with Lenin, who starved 6 million Ukrainians to death. Same with Stalin, who murdered over 60 million of his fellow countrymen. Same with Mao, the evil leader of China, who slaughtered over 100 million of HIS own countrymen, all under the banner of marxism/socialism/communism. So one has to instead observe what is the nature of what someone wishes to bring into existence, and its effects, rather than simply allowing the idea of "working toward what's better". The very worst nightmares of the 20th century, amassing over 185 million corpses, were all begun under the nebulous idea of "making the world better".

Since some people had rough year in 2019 i want to recap what a huge change i made. I went from really unhappy in 2018 to not having a single bad day, not even more than half an hour in 2019. I stopped reading the news, started working out and especially i was nice to everyone. In the beginning it was hard to stay positive all the time, but once you master it every person around me was friendlier and i became happy. I sounds cheesy, but seed love in the world and you will harvest even more love. Peace my friend :)

It's not about being divisive, theres 7.7 billion people sucking resources out of this earth, all the human rights crimes, rivers that run with chemicals in other country's. And this guy is stupid our culture has been based on burning carbon for way longer than 30 years so another 30 and were going to be carbon neutral? HAHAAHAHAHAHAA

@saradanhoff6539 5 жыл бұрын
@@JordanJank Hydrothermal liquefaction has been around for over 40 years. Even if we stuck to carbon, we know how to produce it from any organic slurry, including petrochemical, circulating at 3000psi and 300c in a thermal pressure pipe. Only government subsidies make it cheaper to pump from the ground. The only reason you dont hear about it is government suppression since it emerged, and the threat it presents to the oil industry. (You can make a setup for it at home for a couple hundred bucks, which would destroy the industry.) And the process is carbon negative so long as you are producing and sequestering more than you burn.

Don't get too high though. Capitalism will kill our society, if we cannot overcome it. Because it is the root and replicator of all our big problems. In spite of the intent of some well meaning investors, they are still bound by the profit motive and nothing can be funded, if the economy is collapsing.

At one point, society believed that major cities would be buried in horse manure. The primary form of transportation was still horses and cities like London were getting HUGE. So there were literally mountains of horse-sh*t everywhere. Nobody could think of a way out of the literal mess. Then somebody invented the automobile and BAM! The whole paradigm shifted. The solutions to our problems, might be the kind of breakthrough that we can't even comprehend yet. I think we'll be fine.

Awe Joe. Got me to mist a bit a the end. I only recently started supporting you because I honestly did not respect KZbin to have information on the type of subjects I was earnestly seeking helpful explanations of. l only found your channel at the beginning of the year. It was your double slit experiment video that hooked me. I had an understanding of what the answer might already be and your explanation cut through a lot of painful overthinking and helped me to confirm some truths that I was looking for. Thank you sir. My favorite video after that is your perfect old fashion video. And that is why humans are AMAZING. Thanks for the hard work and don't forget the chair spinning thing. The audience needs that stuff to connect or disconnect from the hard subjects your continue to cover.

Escapism? Not good, especially for a Science Guy. What happens in the country and in the world affects science, and ultimately your life. You must know from where the blows are coming, and if you value anything besides of yourself (children, ecology, culture, justice), you need to know what's happening so you can put your effort into it. At least, to vote for the greater good. Or the lesser evil.

When I was in high school my dad started asking me how my astronomy classes were going. I was confused by the question, but my grades were not that great, so in order to avoid the topic, I would just say that they were fine. Then one day, after he asked me how my astronomy classes were going for the 6th or 7th time, I decided to ask him what he was talking about. He said, "Well, your teachers keep calling me to say that you are taking up space in school." ;-) hehehe
