Also just want to mention that the chest just replaces the treasure pouches that you get from the other professions. All of the professions have a similar mechanic, they just get theirs in the treasure pouches. However, only the excavating can get the craft kits to make tools.

Kicking trees also doesn't cost energy, on average you get a free kick every 2 trees if u have a decent tool

1 thing to add is it also gives you more tools overall from getting chests, which then can be dismantled for Tool parts, which can then be used to craft the max Durability repair kits to repair your max durability as well

Technically tool drops do no scale with life energy cost, so best option would be the cheapest energy option... gathering followed by fishing. Unless the probabilities differ from each of them which I have no data on.

Did they change how tools drop now from life skills? I am still on the epic quality tools which sucks and I don't want to buy relic tools, they cost a lot now.

@@StrifeHale i have yet to get a tool drop above Epic from the lifeskills alone, so it might still be a craft angle for them

@@GreenyNeko ive always felt like chests dropped more than the pouches from other lifeskills, also in pouches i believe u get 1 tool, while chests can give you 2 tools. overall i felt like i got more tools from Excavation everyday than the others, but its just my opinion, i have done any real tests but i have done them all. also its just easier to do relic hunting.. the Rocks and bunnies are always contested, take longer and fishing is not rewarding.

@@StrifeHale Yeah, every trade skill now has a mechanic that drops tools up to expert. Still worse than crafting but much better than before if you're lazy. I have gotten an expert hunting tool for example.

I don't know if the excavation is really the best among the others, but I can make a calculation on how low it has fallen compared to the past. The prices before the release of t4 and after the release of t4 are not even remotely comparable, then, I don't know if what I'm about to report is normal or not but, I noticed a "Big" difference after about 1 week from the release of t4, for example; very low prices, the drop in the excavation has decreased so much that it seems like you have only played a few thousand energy compared to the beginning of t4, the game used to activate very very often before but now you risk finishing your energy first to then activate the brush ability... conclusions? My opinion is that we were better off before than now, digging was much more profitable, like in the game, when you did it on purple material, the materials you found made you earn something (and you did it every 5 digs), while now?....it practically doesn't make sense to invest time for that miserable amount of gold you get from digging. Unlike digging, here it seems that hunting is more profitable, the prices of digging are so low that I don't know if people are trying to get free materials xd.

I have been doing the area around the allied base and it's much easier and faster than the loop around Shady Hill. There's no trash mobs constantly assaulting you and just running the square the relics respawn by the time you get back. ps There's a mokoko seed beyond that dirt pile, dig it up and go get it. pps I miss the relic hound.

I think hunting is higher value. The master crafting kits are too rare and a ton of ppl do excavating, the item prices usually lower than every other profession. And the blue item for atros/stims are basically worthless.

I think accessibility is really important here. I usually hunt in that big loop at soot valley or whatever it’s called but since there’s only 2 channels I’m always competing with someone for a spot. I do feel that I get more abidos mats from hunting tho

Ignoring selling the leather, imo fishing is highest raw material but does not respect your time. (not sure about mining, logging tho)

How to activate the gold leafs on minimap?

On the map (when pressing 'm' by default) there's a "personal memo" button at the bottom right. You can use it to place memos on the map; one of the icons is a gold leaf. Some people use that to mark trade skill spots.

The level 20 fishing bonus is so rare now compared to "on the line". Can burn through 4k life and only get 2 boosts

Tbf the 20 fishing bonus is laughable since base drops are low, you want the mini game and pouches as much as possible on fishing.

Is it better to keep your expert or master tool equipped all the time, or use one of the purple ones for routine digging and only equip your fancy tool when you have to do the mini game?

8:08 you are wrong about this, mini game doesnt cost any points at all its also free as opening a chest. I see minigame attempt rate on par with chests chance.
