Late again from Ontario, I remember my mother bringing home one of those Celtic rugs not long after the Lisbon Victory, and it kicked arround our house for decades. My older sister Anne most probably snatched it as she was Celtic mad.

First game I saw us win was against Rangers was when we beat rangers 2-0 in the cup at Celtic Park in 97. Shame Falkirk put us out at Ibrox in the next round.

Hi JP I have a very similar book to yours with newspaper reports from the same time period but mines had a different cover from you! I would like to ask Matthew, were the first ever Celtic team all Irishmen or was it a mixture of Scots and Irish. I’ve honestly no idea.

In Australia at least one team seems to be trying to create VAR reviews when players are running out of puff or to stop the momentum of opponents.

The comment he made on Saturday at Ross county about the penalty were disgraceful, he tries to be relevant by being controversial. He does my head in . You wouldn’t hear John hartson do this even if he felt the same, Walker goes over the top with the adjectives he uses to make out as if Celtic basically are getting a favour.

It's just the handball that needs sorting out if it's two feet away blasted at you you can't react it's common sense Celtic one was soft but it gives us all something to argue about hh

Used to be if you attempted to gain advantage by touching the ball it was deemed a pen. Now its technically a pen if the ball strikes you with arms in an unnatural position. It's the whole "unnatural" position thing that is making it so difficult.

Var should b independent, no jobs fur the boys, ie: refs from Scotland, easy pessy

Var in the English premier League still has issues it's not that bad in Scotland. They had to sack the officials a few months back in the prem league for making mistakes it's just typical Celtic and rangers fans proper over reaction and conspiracy theories. It's over the top
@den264 Жыл бұрын
Take VAR aside and just concentrate on the stats. Look at penalties awarded to Rangers v Celtic in only the past five seasons. Look at the numbeer of opponents red carded for Rangers and look at the lach of Rangers player sent off in the last ten years.

Cannot stand Andy Walker, but exposing the gross incompetence of referees is great. The ref's up in arms is also weird, why should conversations be hidden ? Only if they are having conversations that are self incriminatory. Ignoring the bias, they are unaware of the rules of football and rank incompetent at best CCTV cameras IMO should be everywhere, why worry if you are not doing anything wrong. (Ignoring the privacy argument, which I personally am willing to do) Same point I make about VAR, why worry about use hearing what they are saying if they are doing nothing wrong Andy Walker is a 100% Celtic fan from a strong Celtic supporting family, but he is pathetic Uncle Tom "Celtic Supporter" commentator

How on Earth can anyone think that it wasn't a penalty at the weekend? His arm is completely outstretched at shoulder height and it hits his forearm from a cross that deflects the ball away. Won't see one more blatant and if it happens against us it's still a clear penalty.
@lpmd3679 Жыл бұрын
How can you jump with someone with your arms by your side? 😂 The rule needs changing whether it's for or against Celtic, bit of common sense
@michaelmundy7160 Жыл бұрын
@@lpmd3679his arm was there cause he was holding vickers Jersey not cause he jumped. Most blatant penalty you'll see all year

@Michael Mundy As the lads said, if that's given against Celtic I'm not happy. Very soft in my opinion. Its not intentional and hasn't prevented a scoring opportunity, rule needs sorting
@CJMc96 Жыл бұрын
@@lpmd3679 They aren't shoulder to shoulder though. If that wasn't given you'd be raging. So clear a penalty.

@LPMD Punching someone in the face, at the halfway line, doesn't stop a goalscoring opportunity but remains a red card. Goalscoring opportunities have nothing to do with the rated punishment for a foul, professional, deliberate or unintentional. Hand in an unnatural position, ball strikes arm from a huge distance (he could have moved his arm). As much a stonewaller as headbutting someone.
