Thank you. One thing for sure. We are all survivors.

Indeed Jonathan. All that's needed is to get up one more time than you fall. Thanks for watching.

This is great advice! I’m in the process of recovering from the second time I’ve lost everything, and what a teacher this failure has been!

I've been there too Kevin, and it's recoverable!. Glad the video struck a chord.

Failure was not on my mind when I lost everything, it was more of a bump in the road of life. My theme song was “I will survive”…and I played that song (gazillions of times) and sang to it quite often until I believed it! And guess what? I did survive. When I look back on that most devastating life moment, it doesn’t seem bad. I guess I did learn something. I like your video’s because they are thought provoking. Realizing what we are not alone in this wonderful world is amazing. Thank you. 😊

Thank you for sharing Dian. I understand how you felt. I lost my business and everything else when my children were young. It took everything in me to recover but I had to for them. I have done a video about the situation. The thing is you overcame by getting up one more time. I appreciate you sharing part of your story.

We’ve failed at plenty of things we’ve tried, but that’s never stopped us from trying again. 😁

That's the thing to do! Which proves you're not a failure. I think it happens to many of us and to be a winner, you just have to get up more times than you fall. Thanks for watching Pam! Onward & upward!

My husband and I have never been afraid to try new things. We've had loads of well meaning folks caution us. Some of our actions have been colossal financial "failures" but I wouldn't trade the experiences for anything. We've been married 41 years and are still trying new things. May it ever be thus!
@JamesMurphyYTАй бұрын
As I've said before, I lost my business and pretty much everything else when I was 30 and we had two small boys at the time. We had to struggle but we overcame. Thos are the time when we learn the most. I believe you have to make your own path and see where it leads. Sometimes you get it right and sometimes you get it wrong. It's part of life's tapestry. Thanks for sharing.

Such wise words, not normally communicated by ordinary conventional conversation. Seneca made similar statements. He also said that success is a false reward. It may prove to be the sting that you never wanted. Childhood trauma is a wicked form of failure that will seem to upset the whole balance of life. But somehow the usual safe promises will get replaced by superior solutions to meaning. For me anyways the hurting will shine the healing.
@JamesMurphyYTАй бұрын
I have to say, I would never have expected to see Seneca's name in a comment about one of my videos! I would think that success is different for everyone, but for me, getting up one more time than I get knocked down is success. Thanks as always for your comment. It's always good to see how other people regard my videos. I appreciate your support.

I'm a pensioner aged 72 still grieving for a wife. I've written 86 novels, six of them best sellers. My work has been read by almost 2 million readers. Have you ever heard of me? No. I am far too old and jaded to try again. Your advice, while effervescent and well meaning, would be positive for those of a youthful disposition but does not work for all.
@JamesMurphyYTАй бұрын
It sounds to me as though you've been hugely successful! I'm sorry that you feel old and jaded but grief can do that to you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for taking the time to watch the video.

Failure to me is freedom. Don't you hate, "But have you tried it?" So failure is the freedom to say, "'I can't do that/I don't like that' because I've tried it and I failed...sometimes miserably/or in pain." They may sigh in disgust, but they get off my back!
@JamesMurphyYTАй бұрын
They only people who hate failure are those who are too scared to do anything. If you attempt anything, it's possible to fail, so you may as well get used to it! Thanks!

Failures showed me who my real friends were... Hint: much much less than I thought. Almost to the point of "friend" being singular, not plural.
