Why Fall Turkey Season is Important to Turkey Hunters

Matt, I am 55+ and just started Turkey hunting this year (was waterfowl hunter as a kid and just got back into hunting). A buddy and I (same age) just started Turkey hunting this year and we want to say your videos have helped us greatly. Thank You! The last week of the CT season I called in an outstanding Tom on public land for my buddies first kill. Your 3 suggestions of 1) confidence in your calling; 2) emotion in your calling: 3) soft calling was the reason we harvested a great Tom on public land. your right Dale i been die hard spring hunter since i was 16 but havent fall hunted since about 18 because i love bowhunting. However you put a bug in my ear im gonna be out this fall for a bird.

There's been a great deal of dissension about fall hunting in the deep south. I fell into this school of thought until I tried it. Fall hunting is a great outlet for turkey hunters, and is a great experience. Especially since you can call too much and too loud. I've moved away from bowhunting for three reasons - CWD, headache involved in keeping a bow running, and the expense of archery gear. With CWD marching across the Country, I've decided to focus of chasing squirrels and turkeys in the fall. Can get my venison laid by with a .308. Dont eat one unless you test it. Keep up the good work!

I’ll be out almost every weekend till the fall season in Wa scouting every spot I can. One is never enough and don’t want to cull the flock to much in one spot. I’m really glad you made this video Dale! Thanks a ton!

That is a very good point. I see all these pics on fb guys shooting gobblers in the fall and im not saying its qrong but thats all they want to shoot. Not thinking if you take a hen you make hunting spring gobbler a lil more easier cuz of less hens.

Great video! I love to fall hunt, only way I'd been able to bag one the past few years. Finally got a spring gobbler this year. So many hens near us, definitely going to share the video with friends.

Here in north central PA we have 5 dats left to gobbler hunt I herd more gobblining yesterday morning then I did all spring going out tomarow morning giving it one more shot ..been a tuff spring not many 2 year old birds ..and fall omg its as some flock bustin hunting up here in PA love the fall hunt as much as spring but if the birds are feeding heavy on beechnuts they taste terrible

We also have a long archery turkey season here in Missouri for turkey 2 per tag archery ends In January 2020(Based on last year). Firearm Turkey you can get 2 also.

I found my box call half buried at the top of a knob in the selkirk mountains. It was full of ants and the bag it was kept in was sunbleached. Its a turkey killer now

Love the videos, real, genuine, no bs, down to earth. As of a few hours ago tagged out on my second PA tag with a mountain top monster. So now that you have all those breasts, what's your favorite ways to eat them? Enjoying the harvest is sometimes just as fun as the hunt. Would love to see some videos on how you cook them.
