Well, make it fair then. If you can hunt half a day, then the tags should be half price.

I have a Hoyt Mirage 2 that is 20 years old. Still shoots as fast, straight, and accurate as the day I bought it. Never prescribed to getting the needy latest bow. My friend Bill had a Matthews bow he didn’t want to let me shoot because I would want one. Well, I shot it, then proceeded to beat the pants off him with my Hoyt while he short his new Matthews. Nothing can replace time spent behind the string of a trusted bow!

Hi Matt, I hear you about the pressure.just was wondering if that last hunt of the season was in N.Y ? if so, just be thankful, that you can still hunt there, because the dairy farm that I first started turkey hunting, on 30 years ago, in N.Y is now a Multi-Million dollar horse farm. No Hunting ! No Pressure (I guess) L.O.L'S . Just gotta move on, Thanks for a Great channel !

I’m honestly thinking it has to do with luck of being at the right spot the exact same time a gobbler is there. I’m going to get skunked this year. 90% of the turkeys are hens and they just aren’t doing what they normally do.

Southwestern Ontario 🇨🇦 here. First season for this lady hunter. I’ve been able to call out hens mid - late afternoon but both hens & toms are not making any noice the past week. You’re videos have been really helpful for me in this learning journey. Thank you for all the tips & info you share!

As far as calling goes, in general, can you really over call???? I try to sound like multiple hens. Turkeys seem to talk, in one way or another, constantly. Especially if there are multiple birds together. One is bound to be talking.

This year, while turkey hunting two guys came cruising through in a gas powered side by side. To add insult to injury they stopped to look closely at my hen decoy. They still didn't see me. Fortunately for them I am not a murderous psychopath.

Got a few days left of the season, I'm going to try at least one more time to find my first before season ends. You did great on your gobbler! Stay safe out there and keep it up!

Idk about high pressure. You killed a 5th bird. It seems alot birds killed on one property. Late season gobbling is less. I'm still not understanding pressure. Seems still successfull. Disheartening but birds still respond in ur scenario. That's as high pressure as gets 5 birds on 1 property.
@daleoutdoors17
@daleoutdoors17 Ай бұрын
It’s a big property. I wasn’t so concerned about the number of turkeys killed. It’s just the pressure they put on the property.

I hunt 250acres that 0 turkeys have been taking in 3yrs because of pressure from the other 2 that hunts it. I watch and scout turkeys soon as deer season goes out. There's a good turkey population they gobbled there heads off and soon as season comes in they get pushed to the neighbors. They drive up in there get out go to calling. Pressure doesn't come from killing birds if you know how to hunt you can get in there and pick em off like Cherry's and not scare them out of there

Why don't you hunt more public?
@daleoutdoors17
@daleoutdoors17 Ай бұрын
Don’t need to. I do hunt some public I did this year some In Kentucky. But I don’t have to hunt public for the most part so I don’t . I’m not into this KZbin public land only mindset. If I got access to private then why wouldn’t I hunt that?

Hey dale, I used your tips the year with the whine call. Very impressive I called 2 birds in on PA public with it. Very high pressured so I never yelped loud just soft calling, worked very well for me and am thankful for your videos. Also missed 2 in Tennessee this year but the sights were messed up and I had to get a red dot. Anyways, thanks for the tips!

5 gobblers in one property here n Ohio serious it rare find a place that kind of hunting any more …. Numbers r way down
@daleoutdoors17
@daleoutdoors17 Ай бұрын
Very true. It’s a big piece of property so lots of turkeys but still quite a high number to take off one piece. Numbers are up I think in that part of the state. I seen a lot of gobblers on the sides of the road strutting and seen alot of Gobblers out riding. But it was definitely tough due to pressure that was there before I got there

And my frist gobble without ten hunters running in. Im deep in the forest but thats were the pressure move us. Good luck to all still hunting. Thanks dale

I agree with all your short cut thoughts. All true advice. I dont know about this word, "pressure", though. If birds arnt call shy and its a fact you can bust birds up by accident and kill them. Its a fact you can shoot a bird and within same time frame call in another. You can also hunt in some most frequented areas by humans on a property. I noticed on one of your latest videos in tennessee you killed a bird in a blind in some kind of field with a structure in sight. Probably a spot more frequented by humans on the property. Idk that people equal pressure. They are used to it in places. You also said they know your hunting them. I dont believe a bird has that much brains to be honest. Thats alot of credit to them. The idea in turkey hunting if you dont shoot em is not get busted. But i agree with advice on short cuts

Yesterday I took a young hunter hunting and we got into this field and struck up some birds on the neighboring property, it is late season here is TN and normally I would soft call , but this time I did a lot of cutting added with long sequences of yelps and it wasn’t long 2 Tom’s came under the fence and came right in our laps and the hunter was able to harvest his first bird!

I know you know what's going on brother . Just by listening to the way you talk . You definitely have to know the ways and behaviors of the eastern wild turkey. To become a good bird hunter . This 2024 season as been a lot more difficult from listening to other bird hunters . I had my second to the best season I've ever had this season and only got 1 bird . To me it's all about calling the bird in . I could care less on pulling the trigger . Remember this . . . When you pull the trigger . . . The show and the education are over . For that hunt . I won't even pull the trigger unless I know 99 % I'm going to kill him . I don't want him to be spooked or educated from me messing up. It's not about coming home with a bird every hunt but I'm still into the learning stages . It's a different classroom and a different teacher in every hunt for me . Central Virginia is where I attended bird school 😂
