Walt and his son’s relationship being completely broken is a nice callback to his confession from previous episodes, where he told Flynn about his memory of his dying father and that he didn’t want Flynn to remember him in a bad way. Now it was inevitable.

it's incredibly symbolic because their relationship was Bad and now it's Broken

the final scene of walter in the lab is absolutely one of my favorites in the series. it shows the satisfaction that walter felt as he was dying - he took one final look at all of the equipment in the lab and the condition that they were in, which allowed him to see that jesse had been perfectly replicating his recipe, letting walt know that he had successfully taught him in the end. the content look on his face as he falls on the floor also does a great job of showing his pleasure from the fact that he'd managed to escape before the police got to him, meaning that he truly had been able to live free until the end the scene also provides a great contrast between itself and the scene of jimmy in court in the BCS finale. while jimmy was able to come to terms with his past and embrace his identity as jimmy mcgill, walter leaves his old self behind by tying off all his loose ends and saying his final goodbyes to his family. he died as heisenberg, surrounded by the equipment that had corrupted him and changed his life, not as walter white. the music choice for the scene is also one of it's best elements. the lyrics of it perfectly encapsulates how walter was feeling in that moment, and the name of it ("baby blue") is a subtle nod to his product ultimately, there's so many elements that tie this scene together and make it an extremely satisfying end to a great series
@zach3362 жыл бұрын
It's also a perfect bookend to the very beginning of the series where he is waiting for what he believes to be the police... And is freaking out rather than satisfied and content

I just watched Felina, ultimately drawing Breaking Bad to a close. I’m going through the wake of grief Breaking Bad has left. It feels like personal loss of a loved one. Best experience, let alone TV series of my lifetime, It is a masterpiece. I’m beyond sad that it is over, but better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all!

This show will truly go down in history as one of the best shows on television. Ever. There couldn't have been a better ending. The pacing, the color choices, the three acts perfectly closing, and the fact that Walt/Heisenberg was able to tie all the loose ends. No other show, in my opinion, will top the purity of Breaking Bad.

He actually dies a “Kingpin”. Wiping out those unworthy of wearing his 👑. Imposters…off brand cola types. The last thing he ruled over, had control over in in life is forever attached to the Great Heisenberg. The only Legacy he could hope to have for himself. No…they weren’t finding him curled up, forgotten in his own filth. Excitement in his life indeed. Assuming death was an absolute this was a triumph. Thanks for the video 🎉🎉🤘🏾

I really like how Walt chooses not to clean up his personal appearance when making amends in his final rounds with his adversaries/family that even all the criminals say "you look like shit" and "did you see him, we are not doing business with him!". Yet as the drug he made perfectly rampaged his fortunes, family, reputation, etc. would finally rampage against its handlers. To me it is almost like the Vince Gilligan wanted to show that Walt was the drug that crippled the drug trade with various character traits with his smooth talk to lure various drug dealers to try his product, how all the lives around him are ruined, how he was sick with cancer before choosing to make meth (most people who resort to drugs are not initially addicted) which leads then to use, his relationship with his family is destroyed even if he had good intentions. Its irony in its rawest form, he is the supplier and yet even without using his own product, suffers the affects of how the drug cripples communities usually the people around the users.

You forgot a small part when Walt shoots Jack he shoots him mid sentence just like Jack did to hank and the look at the end were Jesse looks up and down and Walt slightly nods is just like the very start Jesse says to Walt you wanna cook ? And the Jesse looks up and Walt slightly nods
@peppermintpsaki11572 жыл бұрын
The only blemish that kept it from perfection IMO is: . In Walt’s final moments, he should have taken a hit of his own stuff. With the way he caressed that lab equipment on his way down, his ego would have liked the satisfaction of appreciating his own handiwork and experiencing exactly everyone thought he was a legend for (and what impelled so many people to ruin their lives) even if just for a one and only time. And it would have underscored that he really had nothing left to lose at that point as he was dying for keeps this time. It will always niggle at me as a missed opportunity.
@teo-medesi Жыл бұрын
I think Walt snorting up a line of crystal before collapsing would have been a bit too funny for an ending.
@Whatelse-gk1fw Жыл бұрын
Walt had already ruined his life, to then be classified as a druggie by the police, his reputation as Heisenberg and Walter white would have died. Also, that did not allow him to die in piece as meth is a stimulus drug.

the only true mistake in Breaking Bad was at the end of Felina when the song Baby Blue faded out. there should have been a moment of silence. but the BB theme kicked in immediately. it was loud and jarring and took me out of a blissful moment. when i rewatch it now i hit mute after Baby Blue fades
